Kia has made great strides in recent years to produce great cars geared to the European market’s likes and dislikes - and this South Korean firm has done it well.
Most of the firm's cars are designed and made in Europe and they are all excellent value with a lot to recommend them - least of all an excellent warranty that helps to set the benchmark in what drivers should be expecting.
From the eye-catching Soul, a hatchback with lots of abilities. When launched it had a daring design but its chunkiness is now one of its best features – there’s a lot of space on board for what is a hatchback. Lots of equipment too make this a great choice.
The carmaker has an impressive range of hatchbacks and family cars that will impress and that includes the stylish Picanto which is cheap to run. It might be small but it is agile and fun to drive.
There’s also the Rio which is an attractive car with lots of space – the engines are excellent and there’s an impressively frugal petrol unit available too.
For those needing more space, the Venga is an impressive people carrier with some very nice design touches on board. Again, there’s lots of space and a big useful boot.
As a carmaker striving to make inroads into the UK market, Kia have priced their cars well – they offer real value for money and the warranty is also a big plus.
Which brings us to their most popular sellers – the Cee’d and Pro_cee’d cars.
The Cee’d offers space, a quality interior and impressive handling and performance. It’s having to sell in a closely fought segment so there’s a lot going for it as a family hatchback. Alongside this is the Pro_cee’d which is the sportier version which better performance from a range of excellent engines.
The firm also makes the excellent mid-size saloon, the Optima which is a great alternative from its rivals.
As a carmaker, Kia also offers people carriers with so much more to offer: the seven seat Carens and the slightly smaller Venga have space, lots of equipment and durable interiors designed for lots of family use.
There's also the Kia Sorento, a seven-seat SUV, which is also priced well.
The firm also makes the increasingly popular and stylish 4x4, the Sportage for the crossover sector which has great handling and lots of equipment.
