The current Citroën line-up gives us eight models to lease, across MPV, SUV, Coupe, Estate and Hatchback body styles. Seven of those eight are offered as electric, five as petrol, three as diesel, and one as a plug-in hybrid.

Choosing is mostly a question of shape and seat count before anything else - and if you want a compact family SUV that can be had with five or seven seats, the Citroën C3 Aircross is where most people start looking.

Eight Citroën models are priced today: two MPVs, two SUVs, one coupe, one estate and two hatchbacks. Decide on body style and seat count first, then pick the powertrain that suits your mileage and whether you can charge at home.

MPV

The Citroën Holidays is the leisure-focused option: diesel only, four seats and a 715-litre boot in a 4.98 m body, with braked towing up to 750 kg. It suits couples or small families who travel with a lot of kit. Deals start from £826.90 a month.

The Citroën Space Tourer is the full-size people carrier, offered in diesel or electric with five or nine seats and a boot from 603 to 2,011 litres depending on version. It also tows the most in the range, up to 1,900 kg braked. Deals start from £470.47 a month.

SUV

The C3 Aircross is the compact family SUV, available in petrol or electric with five or seven seats and a boot of 330 to 460 litres depending on version. At 4.40 m long it stays easy to park, and tows up to 1,300 kg braked. Deals start from £267.62 a month.

Bigger and plusher, the Citroën C5 Aircross seats five, carries 565 litres of luggage and measures 4.65 m. It's the one model offered as a plug-in hybrid as well as petrol and electric, holds a 4-star Euro NCAP rating and tows up to 1,550 kg braked. Deals start from £329.39 a month.

Coupe

The Citroën AMI is a two-seat electric-only city machine, just 2.41 m long with a 63-litre boot and two trims. Short urban trips are its entire job, and nothing else we lease parks as easily. Deals start from £123.52 a month.

Estate

The Citroën Berlingo is van-derived practicality in passenger form: petrol, diesel or electric, five or seven seats, and a boot between 209 and 775 litres depending on version. It's about 4.40 m long and tows up to 1,300 kg braked. Deals start from £324.76 a month.

Hatchback

The Citroën C3 is the small hatchback of the range, 4.02 m long with five seats, a 310-litre boot and three trims, in petrol or electric. Braked towing is limited to 600 kg, so treat it as a commuter and shopping car. Deals start from £261.70 a month.

A size up, the Citroën C4 is the family hatchback, about 4.36 m long with five seats and a 380-litre boot, in petrol or electric. It'll tow up to 1,200 kg braked, which is more than most hatchbacks manage. Deals start from £323.44 a month.

Electric and hybrid Citroën models

Citroën gives you plenty of ways out of petrol. Electric versions are offered on the C3, C3 Aircross, C4, C5 Aircross, Berlingo, Space Tourer and AMI, and the C5 Aircross is the model that also comes as a plug-in hybrid.

The AMI is electric-only, so if your driving is short, urban and slow, that's the purest version of the idea. At the other end, the electric Space Tourer still offers five or nine seats and a boot from 603 to 2,011 litres depending on version, which is rare in an EV.

Why lease a Citroën?

Which Citroën should you choose?

Start with the job you need doing. Seats and length narrow the list to two or three models very quickly, and the powertrain decision follows from your mileage and charging access rather than the other way round.

Smallest and easiest to park: the AMI, at 2.41 m with two seats. City commuting, nothing more ambitious.

The family choice: the C5 Aircross, with five seats, a 565-litre boot and a 4-star Euro NCAP rating. If you want a smaller footprint, the C3 Aircross does family duty at 4.40 m.

Need seven seats? The C3 Aircross and Berlingo both offer five or seven, and the Space Tourer goes to nine.

Towing: the Space Tourer, up to 1,900 kg braked. The C3 Aircross and Berlingo both manage up to 1,300 kg.
