The Maxus range we can lease today is two electric MPVs: the Mifa 7 and the Mifa 9. Both seat seven or more, both are fully electric, and both hold a 5-star Euro NCAP rating. Size and seating layout separate them.

MPV

The Mifa 7 is the more manageable of the two at 4.91 m long, with seven seats, a 280-litre boot and three trims to choose from. It's also the Maxus that tows most, at up to 1,500 kg braked, so it suits a family with a caravan or trailer. Deals start from £745.19 a month.

The Maxus Mifa 9 is the full-size one: 5.27 m long, seven or eight seats depending on version, a 466-litre boot and five trims. It's the natural pick for airport work, executive shuttle duties or a household that genuinely needs eight seats. Deals start from £1,020.35 a month.

Electric and hybrid Maxus models

Every Maxus we price is electric. There is no petrol, diesel or hybrid option in the range: the Mifa 7 and the Mifa 9 are both battery-electric MPVs, so anyone moving away from petrol is choosing between two sizes rather than two powertrains.

For a driver leaving a diesel people-carrier behind, that's a clean switch rather than a halfway house. Zero tailpipe emissions matter in low-emission zones, which is why these cars appeal to private hire and shuttle operators as much as to families.

Which Maxus should you choose?

With two models in the range, the decision is straightforward. Start with how much vehicle you can live with day to day, then check the seat count and towing weight you actually need - both cars are electric, so the powertrain isn't part of the choice.

If you want the easier one to park and place on narrow roads, that's the Mifa 7 at 4.91 m. It's still a large MPV, but it's the shorter of the two.

If you tow, the Mifa 7 again: it's rated at up to 1,500 kg braked, against 1,000 kg for the Mifa 9.

If you need the most passenger space, or eight seats rather than seven, the Mifa 9 is the answer. At 5.27 m it's a serious piece of kit, with a 466-litre boot behind the third row - useful if luggage travels with the people.
