About Leasing a KIA Sorento
Engines and performance for the Kia Sorento
There's only one engine choice for the Kia Sorento and that's a 2.2 litre diesel unit producing 197 bhp. This is a powerful unit and is mated to either a new six-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual box. It is also a surprisingly nippy engine for the Sorento's size and will return around 51 mpg.
Equipment and handling
A revamp in 2017 saw the interior design being revised extensively and a new trim, the GT Line being added. Also, Kia added its new 'Drive wise' active safety features, along with a new entertainment system. There are seven seats on board the spacious SUV along with a new steering wheel and driver instrument cluster. The interior has been well-designed and there's extensive use of soft-touch materials as well as leather to create a premium ambience. The Sorento, despite its size, is an easy car to live with and drive around town and there are various driving modes to suit a driver's circumstances, including sport, comfort and eco. The engine delivers a smooth performance and grip is surefooted and this is down to the permanent all-wheel-drive system and yet it still helps to deliver an agile performance. It's a great car on long journeys with comfortable seats for everyone. Among the driver assistance systems are driver attention warning, high beam assist, lane keeping assist and dynamic bending light. Kia says that its Sorento is one of the safest cars in its segment and it certainly feels like a well-made and solid vehicle. The infotainment system is accessed via the 8-inch touchscreen which features satnav as standard and there's smartphone integration. Other equipment includes Bluetooth connectivity, parking sensors, alloy wheels and there is also cruise control, air conditioning and an electric sunroof. For most potential drivers, the Kia Sorento will tick lots of boxes: it's comfortable and practical and also has a premium look to the cabin which is a nice place to spend time.
