OMODA is the international-facing brand of Chery, one of China's largest carmakers, and it has built its UK name on heavily equipped SUVs backed by a long warranty. The current OMODA line-up we can lease runs to three models, and all three are SUVs.
Reviewers consistently make two points about the brand: you get a lot of standard equipment for the money, and the driving experience still trails the long-established European, Japanese and Korean names. Every OMODA we price carries a 7-year / 100,000-mile manufacturer warranty.
Choosing between them is mostly about size and how you want to fuel it. The shortest of the three, at about 4.37 m, is a compact five-seat SUV offered with petrol, self-charging hybrid or fully electric power, a boot of 370 to 380 litres depending on version and a 5-star Euro NCAP rating.

OMODA sells SUVs with generous standard equipment, a 7-year / 100,000-mile manufacturer warranty across every model we price, and list positioning below the better-known brands its cars are sized against. The brand is young in the UK; its parent has decades of manufacturing behind it.
Reviewers consistently praise the kit levels, cabin design and the reassurance of that warranty, while criticising ride comfort and refinement next to longer-established rivals. The larger models have generally been received more warmly than the smallest one, which is a fair reflection of how quickly the brand has moved.
The range is tightly focused rather than sprawling: three SUVs spanning roughly 4.37 m to 4.78 m in length, with one offered as a fully electric car, one as a self-charging hybrid, two as plug-in hybrids and two with petrol engines. Servicing is every 12 months or 10,000 miles on every model we price.
Three OMODA SUVs are priced today, and all three are five-seaters. The 5 is the compact one with the widest choice of powertrains, the 7 sits in the middle as the family car, and the 9 is the largest and the towing champion of the range.
The OMODA 5 suits drivers who want a compact, easily parked crossover and the choice of petrol, self-charging hybrid or fully electric power. It seats five, offers a 370 to 380-litre boot depending on version, holds a 5-star Euro NCAP rating and tows up to 1,100 kg braked, across two trims. Deals start from £247.52 a month.
The OMODA 7 is the family choice: 4.66 m long, five seats and a boot of 590 to 639 litres depending on version. Petrol or plug-in hybrid, braked towing up to 1,250 kg, three trims to pick from. Deals start from £306.77 a month.
The OMODA 9 is the big one, at 4.78 m with a 660-litre boot and five seats. It comes as a plug-in hybrid only, carries a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, tows up to 1,500 kg braked and is offered in two trims. Deals start from £419.00 a month.
If you're moving away from petrol, OMODA gives you three routes: a fully electric or self-charging hybrid 5, a plug-in hybrid 7, or the 9, which is plug-in hybrid only. Two of the three models we price offer a plug-in hybrid.
The electric 5 is the one to look at if your mileage is mostly local and you can charge at home or at work. It keeps the same five seats and 370 to 380-litre boot as the rest of the 5 range, so going electric doesn't cost you practicality.
Plug-in hybrids suit drivers who want short electric trips without giving up long journeys, which is where the 7 and the 9 come in - and the 9 is the one to choose if you tow, at up to 1,500 kg braked. On the electric and hybrid models, the battery warranty runs 8 years / 100,000 miles, guaranteeing 70% of capacity. Leasing an OMODA means the car stays under its 7-year / 100,000-mile manufacturer warranty for the whole of any normal lease term, with servicing due every 12 months or 10,000 miles. You hand it back at the end, so residual values are not your problem.
A lease is a fixed monthly rental for an agreed term and mileage, and it includes road tax for the duration. The 9 shows why the terms matter. It's a plug-in hybrid with a 34-and-a-bit thousand pound question mark over its resale value in five years' time - not something you need to answer if you're leasing, and its battery is covered for 8 years / 100,000 miles at 70% of capacity regardless.
Start with size and towing, because those narrow it fastest. The 5 is the smallest at about 4.37 m, the 9 the largest at 4.78 m, and the 7 sits between the two at 4.66 m - so the shape of your driveway may decide this before the spec sheets do.
Smallest and easiest to park: the 5. It's the shortest car in the range and the only one you can have as a fully electric car, which also makes it the pick for low-mileage town driving.
The family choice: the 7, with a boot of 590 to 639 litres depending on version and three trims to choose from. If you want more room again, the 9 offers 660 litres.
If you tow, it's the 9 - up to 1,500 kg braked, more than any other OMODA we price. The 5 manages up to 1,100 kg and the 7 up to 1,250 kg.
