The current GWM line-up we price is short and easy to get your head around. Two models, two very different jobs: an electric hatchback in the ORA 03, and a self-charging hybrid family SUV in the Haval Jolion Pro Hybrid.
Choosing between them comes down to how you fuel a car. If you can charge at home, the electric ORA 03 makes sense; if you can't, the Haval Jolion Pro Hybrid gives you higher-riding SUV shape and a five-seat cabin without a plug.

GWM is a large Chinese manufacturer with a compact UK range covering SUV and hatchback body styles. It competes on equipment and warranty rather than badge history, and every model we price carries the same cover.
That warranty is five years with unlimited mileage, which is longer than several mainstream brands offer and applies across the range - useful reassurance from a maker still building its reputation here.
Reviewers consistently praise GWM for the amount of kit included as standard and for the value on offer, while being blunter about ride quality, infotainment and boot space. It's a young brand in Britain and the driving experience isn't its strongest suit.
The range is compact in every sense. Nothing stretches beyond the Haval Jolion Pro Hybrid at 4.47 m, the ORA 03 sits at 4.25 m, and one of the two models - the ORA 03 - is fully electric.
Two GWM models are on our price list today: one SUV and one hatchback. Both seat five, both come with the five-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty, and each has three trims. Here's what each one is built to do.
The GWM Haval Jolion Pro Hybrid is the family choice: a 4.47 m, five-seat SUV with a self-charging hybrid powertrain, so there's no cable and no charging routine to plan around. Boot space is 255 litres, and it can tow a braked trailer of up to 750 kg. Deals start from £343.30 a month.
The GWM ORA 03 is the electric one, and the easier of the two to thread through town at about 4.25 m long. Five seats, a 228-litre boot and a five-star Euro NCAP rating, with three trims to pick from. Deals start from £348.10 a month.
GWM gives you one of each. The ORA 03 is fully electric, so no petrol at all, and the Haval Jolion Pro Hybrid is a self-charging hybrid that never needs plugging in. There are no plug-in hybrid GWM models on our price list.
For a driver leaving petrol behind entirely, the ORA 03 is the option: a five-seat hatchback of about 4.24 m with a 228-litre boot and a five-star Euro NCAP rating. Home or workplace charging makes the sums work best, and our electric car guide covers the practicalities if it's your first EV.
If charging isn't realistic where you live, the Haval Jolion Pro Hybrid is the halfway house - electric assistance around town, petrol for everything else, and a 750 kg braked towing limit the ORA doesn't offer.
Leasing suits a newer brand well. You take a fixed monthly rental over an agreed term and mileage, hand the car back at the end, and the whole lease sits inside GWM's five-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty on every model we price.
Residual values are the part nobody can be certain about with a marque that's only recently arrived in the UK. On a lease, that's the funder's risk rather than yours, which is a genuine argument for contract hire over buying outright here.
Servicing stays your responsibility unless you add a maintenance package, and road tax is included for the duration. FVL has arranged leases for over 25 years, and our team will talk you through term, mileage and trim before anything is signed.
With two models, the decision is quick. Work out whether you can charge an electric car where you park overnight, then decide whether you need SUV height and a towbar. That answers it in most cases.
Easiest to park: the ORA 03, at about 4.24 m. It's the smaller of the two and the more natural fit for narrow streets and tight multi-storeys.
The family car: the Haval Jolion Pro Hybrid. Five seats, 4.47 m of length and an SUV driving position, with hybrid power that asks nothing of you beyond filling it up.
The one that tows: also the Haval Jolion Pro Hybrid, rated for braked trailers up to 750 kg. That covers a small trailer or a light caravan, not a horsebox.
Going electric: the ORA 03 is the only fully electric GWM we price, and it holds a five-star Euro NCAP rating.
