Porsche measures everything it builds against a sports car brief, and reviewers consistently say it succeeds: the steering, the brakes and the body control feel engineered rather than merely styled, whether you are in a two-seat roadster or a family SUV.

The current Porsche line-up we price runs to nine models across five body styles - SUV, Hatchback, Estate, Coupe and Convertible - with petrol, self-charging hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric versions depending on the model you pick.

Choosing is mostly a question of how many people and how much luggage you carry, and whether you want a petrol engine or a plug. Everything we can lease is set out below, grouped by body style.

About Porsche

Porsche is a German manufacturer best known for rear-engined sports cars, and now for applying the same handling standards to SUVs and saloons. Every model we price carries the same three-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty.

The spread is wider than the badge suggests. It starts with the Boxster at 4.39 metres and stretches to the Panamera at 5.05 metres, so there is a Porsche for a narrow city street and one for long motorway days with four on board.

Three of the nine models are offered as fully electric cars, and two are offered as plug-in hybrids, which means the brand's driving character is now available without a petrol engine. Reviewers regularly single out Porsche interiors for material quality and for driving positions that feel properly thought through.

SUV

The Porsche Macan is the everyday Porsche: five seats, a boot of 476 to 540 litres depending on version, and a length of about 4.73 metres. It comes as petrol or electric, holds a 5-star Euro NCAP rating and tows up to 2,500 kg braked. Seven trims. Deals start from £729.62 a month.

Hatchback

The Porsche Panamera is the long-distance car of the range, at about 5.05 metres with four or five seats and a 421 to 494-litre boot. Petrol or plug-in hybrid, towing up to 2,200 kg braked, six trims. Deals start from £1,071.58 a month.

Estate

The Porsche Taycan is electric only, about 4.96 metres long, with two or five seats and a boot of 326 to 446 litres depending on version. Eight trims, and three body styles that each have their own page linked from the model page. Deals start from £1,283.46 a month.

Coupe

The Porsche 911 is the car the brand is judged on. Petrol or self-charging hybrid, two or four seats, 163 to 373 litres of luggage space and about 4.54 metres long. Five trims. Deals start from £1,830.05 a month.

The Porsche Cayenne is the towing and load-carrying Porsche: 4.93 metres, four or five seats, 434 to 772 litres of boot and up to 3,500 kg braked. Petrol or plug-in hybrid, 5-star Euro NCAP, five trims, three body styles with their own pages. Deals start from £1,185.68 a month.

The Porsche Cayenne Electric does the same job without a fuel tank. About 4.99 metres, four or five seats, 434 to 781 litres, 5-star Euro NCAP and up to 3,000 kg braked towing. Three trims. Deals start from £1,321.91 a month.

The Porsche Cayman is the fixed-roof two-seater, petrol only, about 4.38 metres with 136 to 272 litres of luggage space. Five trims. Deals start from £802.63 a month.

Convertible

The Porsche 718 is the hardcore open-top option: petrol, two seats, 136 litres of luggage space, 4.42 metres long and offered in a single trim. Deals start from £1,493.33 a month.

The Porsche Boxster is the roadster most people picture: petrol, two seats, 120 to 122 litres depending on version, and the shortest car here at 4.39 metres. Four trims. Deals start from £826.20 a month.

Electric and hybrid Porsche models

Three Porsche models are offered as fully electric cars and two as plug-in hybrids, so you can move away from petrol without dropping down a size or giving up towing capacity. The choice is genuinely broad.

Taycan is electric only, an estate with two or five seats and 326 to 446 litres of boot. Cayenne Electric is the big electric SUV, with 434 to 781 litres and braked towing up to 3,000 kg. Macan offers an electric option alongside petrol, with five seats and 476 to 540 litres.

Why lease a Porsche?

Leasing puts you in a brand-new Porsche on a fixed monthly rental for an agreed term and mileage, and hands it back at the end. Every model here comes with a three-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty, which covers most typical lease lengths.

That warranty matters more on a car like this than on a supermini. Servicing still needs doing to schedule at a franchised dealer, and maintenance can be added to the contract so servicing and tyres sit inside the monthly figure rather than landing as bills.

Depreciation is the other side of it. The Taycan is a good example: as a lease customer you agree a rental up front and the resale value is not your problem at the end. We have been arranging leases like these for over 25 years.

Which Porsche should you choose?

Start with the job the car has to do. Seats, boot, towing and whether you can charge at home will narrow nine models down to two or three faster than any spec sheet comparison will.

Smallest and easiest to place on a tight street: the Boxster, at 4.39 metres, with the Cayman about the same at 4.38 metres. Both seat two.

Family duty: Macan seats five with 476 to 540 litres, Cayenne and Cayenne Electric seat four or five with boots up to 772 and 781 litres respectively, and Panamera takes four or five with 421 to 494 litres.

Towing: Cayenne pulls the most at up to 3,500 kg braked, with Cayenne Electric at 3,000 kg and Macan at 2,500 kg.

Electric: Taycan and Cayenne Electric are electric only, and Macan is offered as an electric car too. Want a plug and an engine? Panamera and Cayenne both come as plug-in hybrids.
