View dealThe Porsche Cayenne Electric is Porsche's big battery-electric SUV: about 4.99m long, all-wheel drive on every version, and powerful in a way that no family car really needs. It's for drivers who want genuine space and towing ability without giving up the way a Porsche drives.
It sits above the Macan in Porsche's SUV line-up and runs alongside the petrol and plug-in hybrid Cayenne rather than replacing it. Reviewers consistently describe it as comfortable and quiet in normal driving, yet unusually tidy through corners for something this heavy.
The choice is simple to set out: two shapes (Coupe or SUV), one Electric powertrain with a 113 kWh battery, and three versions - the Cayenne Electric entry model, the S and the Turbo.

The current Cayenne Electric is a four- or five-seat electric SUV, sold in Coupe and SUV bodies, with power from 436bhp to 1,140bhp and drive to all four wheels. Porsche covers it with a three-year, unlimited-mileage warranty.
The Cayenne has been Porsche's practical car since 2002, and this one keeps that job. Boot space runs from 434 to 781 litres depending on body and version, it tows up to 3,000kg braked, and Euro NCAP awarded it five stars, with 91% for adult occupant protection.
Road testers reserve most of their praise for the interior quality and the breadth of ability - motorway refinement one minute, genuinely quick cross-country pace the next. The common criticism is the options list: Porsche lets you spend a great deal on a car that already costs plenty.
Two shapes, same mechanical package. The SUV is the taller, more practical one; the Coupe trades some rear headroom and boot volume for a sloping roofline. Both measure 4.99m long on a 3.02m wheelbase, and both are five-door cars.
The Cayenne Electric Coupe stands 1.65m tall, seats four or five, and carries 434-592 litres with the rear seats up. Its 12.1m turning circle is the tighter of the two.
The Cayenne Electric SUV is the load-carrier: five seats, 747-781 litres behind the rear seats and up to 1,588 litres folded, plus a 100kg roof load limit for a box or bikes.
Because the standard specification is strong and leasing keeps you inside the three-year warranty period. Every Cayenne Electric gets air suspension, matrix LED headlights, a 360-degree camera, heated front seats and steering wheel, electric seat memory and built-in navigation with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Driver assistance is thorough too: adaptive cruise control, active lane-change assist, traffic sign recognition, autonomous emergency braking, self-steering parking and sensors front and rear. Add a hands-free tailgate, dual-zone climate control and power-folding mirrors and there's little you'd call missing on a day-to-day basis.
Servicing falls every 24 months, and the battery carries its own eight-year, 100,000-mile warranty guaranteeing 70% of capacity - worth knowing even on a shorter lease. One practical warning from our team: insurance group 50 is the top of the scale, so get a quote before you order.
There's only one: a fully electric, all-wheel-drive setup with an automatic transmission. No petrol version appears on this page, so the question is really whether charging suits your life, not which engine to pick.
A 113.0 kWh battery (107.0 kWh usable) feeds motors on both axles, giving 436-1,140bhp and 835-1,500Nm. Charging peaks at 390kW, and the best version manages 10-80% in 16 minutes, or 0-100% in 6.3 hours on a 22kW AC supply. It suits drivers who can charge at home or work. Our electric car guide covers the basics if this is your first EV.

Pick on performance and wheels rather than equipment, because the core kit list barely moves between versions. All three are all-wheel drive and share the same battery.
The 436bhp starting point, on 20-inch "Cayenne Aero" alloys with cloth and leather upholstery. It includes Navigation High, Android Auto, leather door panels and central armrests, adaptive cruise control, wireless charging preparation, a powered tailgate, automatic parking assist and adaptive suspension. A panoramic roof, head-up display, ventilated front seats and four-zone climate control are all available as options.
Deals on this version come and go, so ask our team what's live if you don't see it listed.
Then come the performance versions. The S steps up to 657bhp and 20-inch "Cayenne S Aero" alloys with cloth and leather trim; beyond the wheels and the extra pace, it's about presentation rather than added equipment. The same options apply, including privacy glass, roof rails and heated rear seats.
The S is currently available from £1,311.78 a month.
The Turbo is the 1,140bhp flagship - 0-62mph in 2.5 seconds and 162mph flat out in its quickest form. It adds a power tailgate with gesture control, an electrically adjustable steering column and towbar preparation, plus 21-inch "Cayenne Turbo Aero" wheels, full leather, heated rear seats and front sports seats. A retractable towbar is optional.
The Turbo is currently available from £1,656.60 a month. Against the S, that is currently £344.82/mo more expensive.
