The Porsche 911 might be one of the world's best known sports cars, it's certainly one of the longest production models, and it still manages to set the bar for the segment. Drivers can enjoy all-round great performance and handling from a superb vehicle.
The Porsche 911 is now even more comfortable to drive after a revamp and the engines have been tweaked as well. Instead of the 3.6 litre, there's now a 3.4 litre engine which is more efficient and more powerful. The other choice of engine is a 3.0 litre which impresses, especially when it’s combined with the firm's PDK twin clutch automatic gearbox. The 3.0 litre twin turbo petrol engine offers 365bhp and a 0 to 62 mph sprint time of 4.6 seconds.
There's also a seven speed manual gearbox to choose from also (it's the first car to have one in a production model). Even with their superlative performance, most of the Porsche 911’s engines will return around 34mpg which is quite impressive for what they do. It’s important to note that the car is much cheaper to run than its rivals.
Make no mistake, the Porsche 911 is one of the world's greatest sports cars and the latest version is just excellent. The German firm has brought supercar performance into one great package and the 911 is also great fun to drive. It's also cheaper to run than many would expect though the pricetag is on the steep side and some of the options can be pricey too.
Even though there are several cars in the range, including a very nice GT3 which is much lighter, most drivers will get everything they need and more from the entry-level Porsche 911.
The 911 is one of the longest running sports cars ever made and though the general design hasn’t changed much over the years, the vehicle still has great character and performance. The new Porsche 911, which was codenamed 991, has been designed with the driver in mind, in every sense. The interior is well designed and made to the highest standards with an excellent driving position, incredibly comfortable seats and the suspension has been tweaked to iron out the bumpiest of roads.
Essentially, the Porsche 911 is among the finest performance cars currently available with incredible levels of road holding and handling.
