The DS NO7 is a five-seat premium SUV, 4.66 metres long, built around comfort and design rather than sporting pretensions. It's the car DS points at buyers who want something French and a little different from the usual German compact SUV badges.

It sits in the heart of the DS range as the brand's mainstream family SUV, below its flagship. One body style, two powertrains and three trims - that's the whole decision.

You choose between a 1.2-litre turbo petrol and a fully electric version with up to 460 miles of WLTP range, then between Pallas, Etoile and La Premiere. Everything is automatic.

About the DS NO7

The NO7 is DS's family SUV: five seats, five doors, a boot of 515 to 560 litres depending on the version, and a 3-year / 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty. The NO7 is DS's current family SUV, on sale in this form since 2026.

Reviewers consistently praise the styling and the cabin - the materials, the ambience and the quietness at town speeds get the warmest words. Ride comfort is described as composed and deliberately cushioned rather than sharp, which is exactly the brief DS set itself.

The criticisms are consistent too: the petrol feels modest against the car's premium positioning, and charging speed for the electric isn't class-leading. Euro NCAP awarded four stars, where several rivals hold five.

Why lease a DS NO7?

Because the standard specification is generous across the whole range, which matters more on a lease than a long options list. Every NO7 gets adaptive cruise control, a head-up display, heated front seats, built-in navigation with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a hands-free tailgate.

Safety and assistance kit is standard throughout: autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, front and rear parking sensors, LED headlights, automatic headlights and rain-sensing wipers. Euro NCAP scored it 76% for adult occupant protection, 85% for child occupant, 80% for vulnerable road users and 65% for safety assist.

On practicality, it's 1.90 m wide and 1.63 m tall on a 2.79 m wheelbase, with 1,525 to 1,570 litres available once the rear seats are folded. Electric versions can tow up to 1,430 kg braked.

Which NO7 powertrain is right for me?

Two choices: a 1.2-litre turbo petrol if you'd rather not think about charging, or the electric NO7 if you can charge at home or at work and want the long-distance range. Both are automatic.

Petrol: 1.2-litre turbo, 143 bhp

Front-wheel drive, automatic, 0-62 mph in 10.4 seconds and WLTP economy of 50.0 to 52.0 mpg with CO2 of 122 g/km. It's the relaxed, fill-it-up option, and it has a 560-litre boot, matching the electric's maximum. Braked towing is 650 kg, so it isn't the towing choice.

Electric: 73.7-97.2 kWh battery, 256-370 bhp

Range runs from 313 to 460 miles WLTP depending on battery and drive layout, with front- or all-wheel drive available and 0-62 mph in 5.4 to 7.8 seconds. The best version charges 20-80% in 27 minutes at 160 kW, or 2.6 hours at 22 kW. Braked towing reaches 1,430 kg.

Which NO7 trim should I choose?

All three trims share the same generous standard kit, 19-inch alloy wheels and the same powertrain choices, so this is mostly a decision about upholstery, cameras and cabin warmth rather than capability.

Pallas

Pallas gets 19-inch Orionis aero alloys, cloth upholstery, the DS Iris system, side, front and rear parking sensors with a reversing camera, wireless phone charging with ventilation, a powered tailgate and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror. A 360-degree camera, fixed panoramic glass roof and fixed towbar are options. The Pallas is currently available from £434.99 a month.

Etoile

Etoile swaps cloth for Alcantara upholstery and adds 360 Vision - the 360-degree camera - plus blind-spot monitoring, which makes tight car parks and motorway lane changes easier. Options include a heated steering wheel, an electrically adjustable driver's seat, adaptive suspension, the panoramic glass roof and a fixed towbar. The Etoile is currently available from £488.66 a month. Against the Pallas, that is currently £53.68/mo more expensive.

La Premiere

La Premiere brings leather upholstery, a Nappa leather steering wheel and a heated steering wheel as standard, so the winter kit you'd otherwise tick on Etoile is already there. Adaptive suspension and a fixed towbar remain options. The La Premiere is currently available from £511.19 a month. Against the Etoile, that is currently £22.52/mo more expensive.

No. The 1.2-litre turbo petrol is a 143 bhp automatic with front-wheel drive and a 55-litre fuel tank - you just fill it up. WLTP economy is 50.0 to 52.0 mpg with CO2 of 122 g/km. If you're undecided between fuel and electric, our petrol, diesel or electric guide works through it.

Between 313 and 460 miles on the WLTP test, depending on battery size and whether you choose front- or all-wheel drive. Efficiency is quoted at 3.7 to 3.9 miles per kWh. Towing capacity varies a lot by version. Electric NO7s are rated at 1,200 to 1,430 kg braked, while the petrol is rated at 650 kg braked, and unbraked limits run from 650 to 750 kg. A fixed towbar is a factory option on all three trims, so it has to be ordered with the car.

Three years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first, plus a 3-year paintwork guarantee and a 12-year anti-corrosion guarantee. On a typical lease term that cover sits comfortably around the contract. There's no spare wheel - a tyre repair kit is supplied instead, which is worth knowing before you order.
