Toyota bZ4X Lease Deals

The Toyota bZ4X is Toyota's five-seat electric SUV, offered with a 57.7-73.1 kWh battery, 165-338 bhp and up to 352 miles of WLTP range. This page explains the powertrain and the Icon, Design and Excel trims so you can pick the right version before you look at the deals below.

The Toyota bZ4X is a five-seat electric SUV, 4.69 m long, with a 452-litre boot and a WLTP range of up to 352 miles. It's Toyota's mainstream battery-electric family car, aimed at drivers who want an EV with a familiar badge behind it.

The choice is simpler than most. One body style, one electric powertrain family with a 57.7-73.1 kWh battery and 165-338 bhp, front- or all-wheel drive, and three trims: Icon, Design and Excel. Every version is automatic.

This is the facelifted current bZ4X, on sale in this form since 2025. A small number of previous-shape electric versions may still be around while stocks last, so check the spec on the individual deal.

About the Toyota bZ4X

The bZ4X is Toyota's electric family SUV: five seats, five doors, a 452-litre boot with the rear seats up, and a 3-year / 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty alongside a 10-year / 100,000-mile battery warranty that guarantees 70% of capacity.

Reviewers consistently praise the ride comfort, the calm and quiet cabin and the sheer amount of standard equipment. The current car's improved range - up to 352 miles on the bigger battery - answers the criticism levelled at the original version, which road testers felt couldn't go far enough between charges.

The common reservation is that it isn't thrilling to drive. It steers tidily and stays composed, but this is a car tuned for smoothness rather than speed. Euro NCAP awarded it five stars, with 88% for adult occupant protection.

Why lease a Toyota bZ4X?

Because the standard kit list is unusually complete, so the cheapest version isn't a stripped-out one. Every bZ4X has adaptive cruise control, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a powered tailgate, wireless phone charging, built-in navigation and Apple CarPlay.

A heat pump is fitted to every version too, which matters on an EV in a British winter - it warms the cabin using far less battery energy than a resistive heater. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, autonomous emergency braking and a rear-view camera are also standard across the range.

On a lease, the questions we get asked most about this car are about charging and mileage. Fastest DC charging is 150 kW, and the best version does 10-80% in 28 minutes; home and workplace AC charging runs to 0-100% in 3.5 hours at 22 kW on the best version. Our guide to charging an electric car covers what that means day to day.

Which bZ4X powertrain is right for me?

There's one: electric. The bZ4X is battery-only, so there's no petrol option and no engine to fall back on. It suits drivers who can charge at home or at work regularly, and it rewards them with low running costs.

Electric

Battery capacity runs from 57.7 to 73.1 kWh, power from 165 to 338 bhp, and WLTP range up to 352 miles. All versions are automatic; front-wheel drive is the norm, with all-wheel drive available. Efficiency reaches up to 4.5 miles per kWh, and braked towing is 750 kg.

Which bZ4X trim should I choose?

Three trims, and the gap between them is smaller than usual because so much is standard. Icon covers the basics generously, Design adds a 360-degree camera, Excel adds comfort and parking technology.

Icon

The entry version has 165 bhp and front-wheel drive, 18-inch "5 Double Spoke" alloy wheels and cloth and leather upholstery, plus LED headlights, a heated three-spoke synthetic leather steering wheel, a driver monitoring camera, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and adaptive cruise control switches on the wheel. The Icon is currently available from £631.60 a month.

Design

Design starts at 221 bhp with front-wheel drive and keeps the 18-inch "5 Double Spoke" alloys and cloth and leather trim, adding a 360-degree panoramic view monitor - genuinely useful in tight car parks. The Design is currently available from £415.84 a month. Against the Icon, that is currently £215.76/mo cheaper. Best value

Excel

Excel moves to 20-inch "5 Double Spoke" silver alloys and synthetic leather upholstery, with ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, eight-way electric front seats with memory and sliding adjustment, advanced self-steering parking assist, front and rear parking sensors and active lane-change assist. The Excel is currently available from £443.76 a month. Against the Design, that is currently £27.92/mo more expensive.

A Premium Pack is offered as an option, and there are eight paint choices including Platinum white pearl, Precious metal and Scarlet flare, several with a contrasting black roof. If you're weighing up spec against monthly cost, our guide to choosing your car is a sensible read before you order.

Toyota bZ4X FAQs

Yes. It seats five, has a 452-litre boot with the rear seats up, and scored five stars at Euro NCAP with 85% for child occupant protection. Rear space is good, and reviewers rate the ride comfort for passengers.

WLTP range is 275 to 352 miles depending on the version, with efficiency up to 4.5 miles per kWh. Expect less in cold weather, as with any EV - our electric car guide explains why.

Peak DC charging is 150 kW, and the best version covers 10-80% in 28 minutes. On AC, the best version does 0-100% in 3.5 hours at 22 kW, though a typical home wallbox is slower than that and will usually mean an overnight charge.

Toyota covers the car for 3 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. The battery has separate cover for 10 years or 100,000 miles, guaranteeing 70% of its capacity over that period. On a typical lease term, you're covered throughout.

Lightly. Braked towing capacity is up to 750 kg, which handles a small trailer or a couple of bikes on a towball carrier, but not a touring caravan. If towing matters, check the figure on the exact version before you order, and remember a tow bar must be factory-fitted on a lease car.

It depends entirely on what's available at the time. Rentals move with term, mileage, initial rental and stock, so the cheapest trim this week isn't always the cheapest next week. The live bZ4X deals below this copy show today's position across Icon, Design and Excel.
