Suzuki has built its name on small, light, straightforward cars that are easy to live with and cheap to run, and on a reliability record that owner surveys have rewarded for years. The line-up we can lease today runs to five models: four SUVs and one hatchback.

Three of those models are petrol, one is a plug-in hybrid and one is fully electric. Every Suzuki we price carries the same 3-year / 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty and the same service interval of 12 months or 12,500 miles.

If you want the biggest and most capable of them, that is the Suzuki Across. It's the plug-in hybrid in the range, and the one rated to tow the most at up to 1,500 kg braked.

About Suzuki

Suzuki is a Japanese manufacturer known for compact, lightweight cars, for four-wheel-drive know-how that stretches back decades, and for keeping things mechanically simple. Reviewers consistently praise the brand's dependability and low running costs, while being less kind about cabin materials and screen technology.

That character shows in the range we lease. Sizes run from the Swift at 3.86 metres up to the Across at the other end of the scale, so nothing here is large by modern standards - which is rather the point.

One model in the range, the E Vitara, is electric only. Every model we price is covered by the same 3-year / 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty, which makes comparing them on cover alone pointless. Compare them on size, body style and what you tow instead.

The Suzuki range we lease

We can lease five Suzuki models: four SUVs - the Across, E Vitara, S-cross and Vitara - and one hatchback, the Swift. All five seat five people. The difference between them comes down to length, boot space, towing weight and what's under the bonnet.

SUV

The Suzuki Across is the plug-in hybrid in the range and the one to pick if you tow. It's 4.64 m long, seats five, offers a 490-litre boot and is rated for up to 1,500 kg braked. One trim, so the choosing is quick.

The Suzuki E Vitara is Suzuki's electric SUV, at 4.28 m long with five seats and a boot of 306 to 310 litres depending on version. It holds a 4-star Euro NCAP rating and tows up to 750 kg braked, across two trims. Deals start from £267.32 a month.

The Suzuki S-cross is the petrol family SUV, 4.31 m long with a 430-litre boot and five seats. It'll tow up to 1,200 kg braked, and there are three trims to choose from. Deals start from £308.21 a month.

The Suzuki Vitara is the petrol small SUV with the longest history behind its badge. It measures 4.19 m, seats five, has a 362-litre boot and tows up to 1,200 kg braked, with three trims available. Deals start from £292.67 a month.

Hatchback

The Suzuki Swift is the petrol hatchback and, at 3.86 m, the shortest car here. Five seats, a 265-litre boot, towing up to 1,000 kg braked and a 3-star Euro NCAP rating, across three trims. Deals start from £215.08 a month.

Electric and hybrid Suzuki models

Two Suzuki models move you away from pure petrol. The E Vitara is the fully electric one, and the Across is the plug-in hybrid - a car with a battery you charge from the mains plus a petrol engine for longer trips.

The E Vitara is a 4.28 m five-seat SUV with a boot of 306 to 310 litres depending on version, a 4-star Euro NCAP rating and braked towing up to 750 kg. Two trims are available.

Why lease a Suzuki?

Leasing a Suzuki means a fixed monthly rental over a term you choose, with the car handed back at the end. Every Suzuki we price comes with a 3-year / 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty and a 12-month or 12,500-mile service interval, so the maintenance calendar is predictable.

Those intervals matter on a lease. Most contracts run three or four years, so you'll know in advance roughly how many services you're paying for - and on a three-year term the warranty covers the car for the full period, mileage allowing.

The E Vitara is the model where leasing earns its keep most obviously, because electric resale values are the part of the equation you're handing to the funder rather than carrying yourself.

Which Suzuki should you choose?

Start with what the car has to do. The smallest and easiest to park is the Swift at 3.86 m, a five-seat hatchback with a 265-litre boot - ideal for town driving and tight parking spaces.

For family duty, the S-cross gives you five seats and a 430-litre boot, while the Vitara covers similar ground in a shorter 4.19 m body with a 362-litre boot. Both are petrol and both tow up to 1,200 kg braked.

If towing is the priority, the Across is the answer at up to 1,500 kg braked, and it's the plug-in hybrid into the bargain. If you want to go fully electric, the E Vitara is the only choice in the range.
