The current Polestar line-up we lease runs to five models: three SUVs, one hatchback and one saloon. They share a 3-year / 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty, and they span 4.61 m for the 2 up to 5.09 m for the 5.

Choosing is mostly about size and shape. If you want the big one, the Polestar 3 is the flagship SUV: five seats, a 484-litre boot, 4.90 m long, a 5-star Euro NCAP rating and braked towing up to 2,200 kg, which is the most in the range.

About Polestar

Polestar is a premium electric-only brand with Scandinavian design roots and a Volvo family connection. Reviewers consistently praise its interior quality, restrained styling and sustainable materials, and every one of the five models we price is fully electric.

It arrived as a performance offshoot and became a standalone maker of electric cars, which is why the naming runs by launch order rather than size - the 4 is not bigger than the 3.

What that means in practice: a small, deliberately focused range rather than a model for every niche. Sizes run from 4.61 m to 5.09 m, so even the compact end of the line-up is a proper family car, and the ownership terms are consistent, with the same 3-year / 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty across every model we lease.

Critics are not uncritical - firm ride quality and screen-led controls come up regularly - but the design and build rarely get a bad word.

We price five Polestar models today: the 3, 4 and 4 Coupe SUVs, the 2 hatchback and the 5 saloon. All are electric, all seat five, and each has its own page with full specifications and current terms.

SUV

The Polestar 3 is the brand's largest SUV and the one to pick if you tow or carry people and luggage regularly. Five seats, a 484-litre boot, 4.90 m long, a 5-star Euro NCAP rating and braked towing up to 2,200 kg. Two trims. Deals start from £555.79 a month.

The Polestar 4 is the mid-sized, low-roofed SUV for drivers who want space without bulk. It seats five, offers a 526 to 530-litre boot depending on version, measures 4.84 m and tows up to 2,000 kg braked, across three trims. Deals start from £468.34 a month.

The Polestar 4 Coupe takes the same 4.84 m footprint and sharpens the styling. Five seats, a 526-litre boot and braked towing up to 2,000 kg, with three trims. It suits a driver who wants the shape first and the badge second. Deals start from £492.66 a month.

Hatchback

The Polestar 2 is the easiest Polestar to live with day to day, at 4.61 m. It seats five, carries 407 litres of luggage, holds a 5-star Euro NCAP rating and tows up to 1,500 kg braked. Two trims. Deals start from £384.14 a month.

Saloon

The Polestar 5 is the long, low four-door for drivers covering serious motorway miles. It stretches to 5.09 m, seats five, has a 365-litre boot and tows up to 1,800 kg braked, in two trims. Deals start from £1,088.86 a month.

Electric and hybrid Polestar models

Every Polestar we lease is electric - there is no petrol, diesel or hybrid option anywhere in the range. That makes the choice refreshingly simple: you're picking a body style and a size, not a fuel type.

The 2 is the hatchback at 4.61 m with a 407-litre boot; the 4 and 4 Coupe sit at 4.84 m with boots of 526 to 530 litres and 526 litres respectively; the 3 is the 4.90 m SUV with 484 litres; and the 5 is the 5.09 m saloon with 365 litres. All seat five.

Why lease a Polestar?

Leasing matches a Polestar's ownership terms neatly. The 3-year / 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty covers a typical lease term, and the battery warranty of 8 years / 100,000 miles, guaranteeing 70% of capacity, outlasts it comfortably.

A lease (Personal Contract Hire for private drivers, Business Contract Hire for companies) gives you a fixed monthly rental, road tax for the contract duration and a car you simply hand back at the end - so battery condition and resale value stop being your problem. Which Polestar should you choose?

Start with the job the car has to do. The range is small enough that size, boot space and towing weight will settle it for most drivers within a couple of minutes.

Smallest and easiest to park: the Polestar 2, at 4.61 m, with a 407-litre boot and a 5-star Euro NCAP rating.

The family choice: the Polestar 3. Five seats, 484 litres of boot space, 4.90 m of car and a 5-star Euro NCAP rating.

The one that tows: the Polestar 3 again, rated for up to 2,200 kg braked. The 4 and 4 Coupe manage up to 2,000 kg, the 5 up to 1,800 kg and the 2 up to 1,500 kg.

The electric one: all of them. Every Polestar we price is electric, so pick on shape and space instead.
