Mercedes-Benz C Class Lease Deals

The Mercedes-Benz C Class is a compact executive saloon and estate built around comfort, quiet refinement and S Class-derived cabin technology. This page explains the body styles, petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains, and the trim choice from AMG Line to the 671 bhp AMG versions.

The Mercedes-Benz C Class is the compact executive car in Mercedes-Benz's range, sitting below the E Class and above the smaller saloons and hatchbacks. It's a five-seat saloon or estate built around comfort, quiet motorway manners and a cabin that borrows heavily from far more expensive Mercedes models.

This is the fifth-generation C Class, on sale in this form since 2022. You choose a Saloon or an Estate, then a petrol, diesel or plug-in hybrid, then a trim: AMG Line or Urban Edition for everyday driving, or one of the 671 bhp AMG versions.

It suits company car drivers, long-distance commuters and families who want something smaller and less showy than an E Class but with the same sense of occasion inside. Deals change constantly, so it's worth checking what's live below before you settle on a version.

About the Mercedes-Benz C Class

The C Class is Mercedes-Benz's compact executive model: five seats, four or five doors, around 4.75 m long, and carrying a 3-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty. Boot space runs from 280 to 490 litres with the rear seats up, depending on body and powertrain.

Reviewers consistently praise the same things: a plush, tech-heavy interior with a large portrait touchscreen, excellent front seats and genuinely hushed motorway refinement. The common criticisms are equally consistent - it's less sharp to drive than the keenest rivals, some lower cabin plastics feel ordinary, and the touch-based controls take learning.

Safety is a strong point. Euro NCAP awarded five stars, with 93% for adult occupant protection and 89% for child occupant protection. Braked towing goes up to 1,800 kg on the versions rated for it.

C Class body styles

Two shapes, same car underneath: a four-door saloon and a five-door estate. Both seat five, both share the same engines and trims, and both measure around 4.75 m long. The estate simply gives you a bigger, squarer load area behind the rear seats.

Estate

The C Class Estate carries 320-490 litres with the rear seats up and 1,335-1,510 litres folded. It's the sensible pick for dogs, buggies and bikes, and reviewers rate it the more useful of the two.

Saloon

The C Class Saloon holds 280-455 litres with the seats up, accessed through a conventional bootlid rather than a tailgate. Choose it for the cleaner roofline if you rarely carry anything bulky.

Why lease a Mercedes-Benz C Class?

Because the standard kit list is deep enough that you don't have to chase options to get a well-equipped car. Every C Class, whichever trim you pick, has heated front seats, an electrically adjustable driver's seat, keyless entry and start, wireless phone charging, built-in navigation and a digital instrument cluster.

Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, DAB radio, climate control and ambient lighting are standard too, as are LED headlights with automatic high beam.

On safety, every version gets autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, a rear-view camera, front and rear parking sensors and self-steering parking. Servicing falls every 12,500-15,500 miles, which keeps workshop visits infrequent for high-mileage drivers.

Which C Class powertrain is right for me?

Three choices: petrol, diesel or plug-in hybrid. All are automatic with a nine-speed gearbox, and your annual mileage and charging access should decide it.

Petrol

Petrol C Classes run from 201 to 415 bhp, automatic, with rear- or all-wheel drive available. WLTP economy is 30.1-45.6 mpg and CO2 from 140 g/km. It's the straightforward option if you do modest mileage and don't want to think about charging.

Diesel

The 2-litre diesel gives 194-261 bhp, automatic, rear-wheel drive only, with WLTP economy of 54.3-62.8 mpg and CO2 from 119 g/km. If you cover serious motorway miles, this is still the easiest C Class to live with - torque from 440 Nm and no charging to plan.

Plug-in hybrid

A 2-litre turbo with a 25.4 kWh battery, 309-671 bhp, automatic, rear- or all-wheel drive available. It charges at up to 11 kW on AC, and the best version goes 10-100% in two hours. You'll need reliable charging to see the benefit; our electric and hybrid guides cover how that works day to day.

Which C Class trim should I choose?

Two everyday trims and three performance versions. AMG Line and Urban Edition cover normal driving; the AMG cars are a different proposition entirely.

AMG Line

AMG Line brings hard disc navigation, smartphone integration, heated front seats and a parking package with reversing camera, plus ARTICO man-made leather in nappa look across the dashboard, instrument panel and beltlines. It rides on 18-inch AMG 5 Spoke alloys with sports suspension, front sports seats, blind-spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition and seat memory. The AMG Line is currently available from £685.22 a month.

Urban Edition

Urban Edition is the plug-in hybrid trim, starting at 309 bhp with rear-wheel drive, on 18-inch AMG 5 Spoke alloys with Artico man upholstery and ambient lighting. It's a more understated look than AMG Line rather than a bigger kit list. The Urban Edition is currently available from £772.74 a month.

Then there are the AMG versions, all 671 bhp plug-in hybrids with all-wheel drive.

AMG

The AMG adds 20-inch AMG cross spoke forged alloys in high-gloss black, digital light LED headlamps, MBUX augmented reality navigation, an electric panoramic glass sunroof and AMG Nappa leather. Four-wheel steering, adaptive suspension, a head-up display, 360-degree camera and hands-free tailgate come with it; adaptive cruise control is an option. The AMG is currently available from £1,063.51 a month. Against the Urban Edition, that is currently £290.77/mo more expensive.

AMG S Night Edition

An edition of the AMG, adding roof rails to the same 671 bhp all-wheel-drive package on 20-inch AMG Cross Spoke wheels with leather upholstery. A retractable towbar and active lane-change assist are available as options. The AMG S Night Edition is currently available from £1,639.19a month. Against the AMG, that is currently £575.68/mo more expensive.

AMG S Carbon Edition

Also an edition of the AMG, with roof rails, 20-inch AMG Cross Spoke wheels and AMG Artico man upholstery. Same 671 bhp all-wheel-drive hardware, with adaptive cruise control and a retractable towbar on the options list. The AMG S Carbon Edition is currently available from £1,715.41 a month. Against the AMG, that is currently £651.90/mo more expensive.

Mercedes-Benz C Class FAQs

It works well for a family of four. There are five seats and a five-star Euro NCAP rating with 89% for child occupant protection. The Estate is the better bet if you regularly carry a buggy or a dog, as rear headroom is tight for tall adults.

It varies by body and powertrain: 280-455 litres in the Saloon and 320-490 litres in the Estate with the rear seats up, rising to 1,335-1,510 litres in the Estate with them folded. Plug-in hybrids carry the battery under the boot floor, so they hold the least - 280-360 litres seats up.

It will drive without charging, but you'd be wasting it. The 25.4 kWh battery charges at up to 11 kW, and on the best version a 10-100% top-up takes about two hours at that rate. Without a home or workplace charger, a diesel C Class usually makes more sense.

Yes - up to 1,800 kg braked and 750 kg unbraked on the versions rated for it, with a 100 kg roof load. A retractable towbar is a factory option on the AMG S Night Edition and AMG S Carbon Edition. Towing capacity is version-specific, so confirm it against the exact derivative before you order.

Mercedes-Benz provides a 3-year, unlimited-mileage warranty, a 3-year paintwork guarantee and a 30-year anti-corrosion guarantee. Plug-in hybrids add a 6-year or 62,000-mile battery warranty guaranteeing 70% of capacity. Servicing is due every 12,500-15,500 miles. There's no spare wheel; a tyre repair kit is supplied.

That depends entirely on what's available at the time - rentals move as pricing is refreshed, and the cheapest version this week may not be next week. Check the live C Class deals below. As a starting point, the AMG Line is currently from £685.22 a month. Our guide to choosing your car covers how mileage and term affect the figure.
