Hyundai Santa FE Lease Deals

The Hyundai Santa FE is a six or seven-seat family SUV sold with self-charging hybrid and plug-in hybrid power across Premium, Ultimate and Calligraphy trims. This page explains how the versions differ and who each one suits.

The Hyundai Santa FE is a large family SUV with six or seven seats, sold in one boxy body shape with either self-charging hybrid or plug-in hybrid power. It sits at the top end of Hyundai's SUV line-up, above the smaller models, and is aimed squarely at people who need a third row without stepping up to something enormous.

At 4.83 metres long it's big, but not unmanageably so, and the upright shape is the point: square corners make the cabin and the boot work harder than a curvier SUV of similar length.

The choice is simple. One body, two powertrains - hybrid or plug-in hybrid - and three trims: Premium, Ultimate and Calligraphy.

About the Hyundai Santa FE

The current Santa FE is the fifth generation of a nameplate Hyundai has used for around a quarter of a century, and it's the version that turned a sensible family SUV into something people notice on the driveway.

Reviewers consistently praise the interior quality, the ride comfort and the sheer usefulness of the square rear end. It has picked up family-car and car-of-the-year awards since launch.

The practical numbers back that up: 621 to 628 litres of boot space behind the second row depending on version, up to 1,949 litres with the seats folded, and a five-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty. Criticism tends to focus on the four-star Euro NCAP rating rather than anything you'd notice day to day.

Why lease a Hyundai Santa FE?

Because the standard specification is unusually complete, which matters more on a lease than it does on a used purchase - you're choosing a car for a fixed term, so what's fitted at the factory is what you live with.

Every Santa FE gets heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, an electrically adjustable driver's seat, keyless entry and start, a hands-free tailgate, wireless charging, built-in navigation with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, privacy glass and roof rails.

Safety kit is standard too: adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, automatic high beam and front and rear parking sensors. Euro NCAP awarded four stars, with 84% for adult occupant protection and 88% for child occupants.

For towing families, braked capacity runs from 1,110 kg up to 2,000 kg on the best hybrid versions, and 750 kg unbraked.

Which Santa FE powertrain is right for me?

Both powertrains use a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with a six-speed automatic gearbox; the difference is whether you plug it in. Our guide to electric and hybrid leasing is worth a read if you're weighing the two.

Hybrid (self-charging)

No cable, no charging, no home wallbox needed. The 1.49 kWh battery tops itself up as you drive, producing 212 to 236 bhp, and WLTP economy of 38.2 to 42.2 mpg. Front- or all-wheel drive is available, and this is the version that tows up to 2,000 kg.

Plug-in hybrid

A 13.8 kWh battery you charge from a socket or wallbox, giving 250 to 284 bhp and all-wheel drive as standard. It charges at up to 7 kW, and the best version takes 1.7 hours from 0-100% at 7.4 kW. Suits drivers with off-street charging and short daily runs.

Which Santa FE trim should I choose?

Three trims, and all of them are generously equipped - the differences are comfort, sound and finish rather than basics.

Premium

The entry trim gets 20-inch Standard Silver alloy wheels, LED headlights, leather upholstery, navigation-based smart adaptive cruise control with stop and go, Bluelink with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a powered tailgate, digital instrument cluster, blind-spot monitoring and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror. The Premium is currently available from £333.47 a month.

Ultimate

Adds a dual glass electric tilt-and-slide sunroof, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a 12-speaker BOSE sound system with subwoofer, 360-degree parking sensors and camera, a dual wireless charging pad, head-up display, electric seat memory and self-steering parking. The Ultimate is currently available from £559.81 a month. Against the Premium, that is currently £226.34/mo more expensive.

Calligraphy

Over the Ultimate, this one is mostly about presentation: 20-inch Black Calligraphy alloy wheels and Nappa leather upholstery, on top of everything the Ultimate carries. The Calligraphy is currently available from £656.71 a month. Against the Ultimate, that is currently £96.90/mo more expensive.

An optional pack is offered as a factory option, for those who need it. Worth deciding before you order - it can't be changed later. Our guide to choosing your spec covers the questions we get asked most.

Hyundai Santa FE FAQs

Yes. It seats six or seven, has a boot of 621 to 628 litres behind the second row depending on version, and the boxy roofline frees up head room in the third row. Euro NCAP scored child occupant protection at 88%.

The self-charging hybrid never needs plugging in - its 1.49 kWh battery recharges through the engine and braking. The plug-in hybrid does need charging: its 13.8 kWh battery accepts up to 7 kW, with a best-version 0-100% time of 1.7 hours at 7.4 kW.

With the rear seats up it's 621 to 628 litres depending on version, and 985 to 1,949 litres with seats folded. The wide tailgate opening and low load lip make it easier to use than the figures alone suggest.

Braked towing runs from 1,110 kg up to 2,000 kg, with the 2,000 kg figure on hybrid versions; plug-in hybrids are rated up to 1,700 kg. Unbraked is 750 kg. Check the individual deal, because the rating varies by drivetrain.

Five years with unlimited mileage, which comfortably outlasts a typical lease term. The drive battery is covered separately for eight years or 100,000 miles, guaranteeing 70% of its capacity. Every Santa FE carries a tyre repair kit rather than a spare wheel.

It depends entirely on what's available at the time, and it moves. A higher list price doesn't reliably mean a higher monthly rental, so it's worth comparing trims and powertrains side by side rather than assuming. The current Santa FE lease deals are listed below.
