Cupra Ateca Performance & Economy

The performance comes from an impressive 2.0-litre petrol unit producing 296 bhp for a 0 to 62 mph sprint time of 5.2 seconds. The top speed is 152mph with emissions of 168g/km. The Ateca's fuel economy is around 39 mpg - though it will be less if you put this responsive engine through its paces. It's also a smart motorway cruiser with lots of performance in the higher rev range.

It soon becomes obvious that the Cupra Ateca lease delivers impressive performance, particularly between 4,000 rpm and 6,000 rpm with a sprightly performance that surprises. There's also a nice soundtrack when the engine travels at speed with a clever sports exhaust keeping the Ateca quiet when travelling at low speeds.

Standard Equipment

There's a lot of standard equipment onboard too, including a configurable digital instrument display and an eight-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system that is smartphone compatible.

The Cupra Ateca car lease also features 19-inch alloy wheels, a quad exhaust system and a stylish body kit. The front seats cosset the driver and passenger well, and there are equipment packs to choose from to add to the kit, depending on what the driver wants.

For example, with the Design Pack, drivers get to enjoy copper-coloured alloy wheels and 18-inch Brembo brakes. As with the sibling, there's plenty of space in the cabin and even tall adults sitting in the rear seats will have enough room.

Handling

Behind the wheel, the Cupra Ateca car lease delivers a stable and composed ride with great handling on winding country roads. This is partly down to the SUV being 10mm lower than the standard Ateca.

Driving Modes

For those who may not know, the Cupra marque is the sporty spin-off from SEAT but is still in its infancy, and here they have created a very fast SUV to enjoy. There are five driving modes to choose from and the throttle and suspension are nicely tuned to suit the driver's own style or circumstances.

However, the 'Cupra' driving mode does impress with a crisp throttle, sharper steering and stiffer suspension dampers delivering a real sports car performance despite the Ateca's size. Along with the transmission, handling is boosted with a strong grip and the four-wheel drive system, called 4Drive, offers confidence on a range of surfaces, including mud and snow.

Interior

The cabin is a revamp of the one found in the SEAT Ateca sibling with an up-to-date dashboard and premium materials being used. As usual, Cupra has added its own logos and contrasting stitching to make this environment stand out.
