Citroen C3 is a supermini to impress
Lots of equipment and comfort
The Citroen C3 is a supermini that will impress drivers and a revamp in late 2016 polished an already great car. The new model has lots more equipment and higher comfort levels to continue its bestselling status.
ENGINES AND PERFORMANCE FOR THE CITROEN C3
The Citroen C3 offers a choice of the firm's latest generation and efficient diesel and petrol engines with three PureTech three-cylinder petrol units delivering outputs ranging from 68bhp and 110bhp. There are also two diesel engines, both are BlueHDi units, producing 75bhp or 100bhp. The engines are mated to a manual gearbox and there's the option of Citroen's smooth changing automatic transmission.
EQUIPMENT AND HANDLING
The Citroen C3 has always been big on personality and a revamp in 2016 saw exterior styling tweaks that made it more attractive along with new levels of comfort. The five-door supermini has been a popular choice and has sold more than 3.6 million units since launching in 2002. The new model is an agile performer around town and a capable and comfortable car overlong motorway journeys.
The latest C3 has a wide range of customisation options and features new technologies including the firm’s ConnectedCam which enables the car's occupants to share videos and road trip photos on social media with the on-board HD camera (though the video function only allows footage to be sent when the car is stationary). However, the revamp really did focus on boosting comfort levels with improved seats and a panoramic sunroof that fills the cabin with natural light; there’s plenty of space on-board and several storage compartments. All of the C3’s instruments are within reach and everything has been designed to enable hassle-free driving.
Among the equipment is a 7-inch touchscreen which also acts as the C3's control panel so the driver can look at the vehicle's main functions and there's also keyless entry and start as well as satnav and smart phone connectivity. Safety equipment includes blind spot monitoring, driver attention alert and lane departure warning with hill start assist and a reversing camera. The options list includes the ability to have a two-tone exterior colour scheme with nine body colours and three roof colours to choose from. There are also four interior designs which range from uncluttered and neutral upholstery to soft upmarket materials and colour contrasting upholstery.
Essentially, this Citroen C3 offers those who are looking for a supermini with style and nice levels of handling but which also has lots of comfort and equipment, then the C3 makes for a sound choice.
