View dealThe Citroën Space Tourer is a large MPV built around one job: carrying people and their luggage without fuss. Depending on the version you choose it seats five or nine, with a high driving position and a boot of 603 to 2,011 litres with the rear seats in place.
It sits at the top of Citroën's people-carrying range, above the smaller Berlingo, and shares its underpinnings with the brand's medium van. That's why it's so roomy inside, and why it drives more like a comfortable minibus than a family hatchback.
The choice is straightforward: one body style, two powertrains - a 2.2-litre 177 bhp diesel or a 75 kWh electric version with up to 215 miles of WLTP range - and three trims, You, Plus and Max.

The Space Tourer is the biggest passenger vehicle Citroën sells in the UK, and this is the third-generation car, on sale in this form since 2023. It's about 4.98 m long in its shortest form, and longer on some versions.
Reviewers consistently praise the space, the commanding view out and the sheer flexibility of the seating - nine adults fit without anyone drawing the short straw. The same reviewers are equally consistent that it rides and steers like the van it's related to, and that the cabin is built for hard wear rather than showroom sparkle.
Practical details back that up: a 12.4 m turning circle, up to 2,011 litres of boot space with the rear seats up, and a three-year or 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty. If you want something plusher to drive, look elsewhere. If you need the room, very little else gets close.
Because a nine-seat vehicle is a tool for a particular phase of life - a growing family, a shuttle run, a club minibus - and leasing lets you take it for a fixed term rather than owning it long after the need has passed.
Every Space Tourer, whatever the trim, comes with a digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, DAB digital radio, voice control, rear parking sensors, automatic headlights and rain-sensing wipers. On the safety side, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist and automatic high beam are standard across the range.
The diesel will tow up to 1,900 kg braked, which is the figure caravanners tend to ask us about first; the electric version is rated at 1,000 kg braked. Both drive the front wheels through an automatic gearbox.
One thing worth doing before you order: measure your garage, and check the seating layout on the deal you're looking at, because seat count changes what's left behind the third row.
Pick the diesel if you cover long or unpredictable distances and tow; pick the electric if your driving is local and you can charge at home or at a depot overnight.
A 2.2-litre four-cylinder with 177 bhp, an eight-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. It'll do 0-62 mph in 11.0 seconds, returns 37.2-43.0 mpg on the WLTP test depending on version, and tows up to 1,900 kg braked. The obvious choice for high mileage and trailers.
A 75 kWh battery and a 134 bhp motor, again automatic and front-wheel drive, with up to 215 miles of WLTP range. On the best version, rapid charging takes it from 5-80% in 45 minutes at 100 kW, or 0-100% in 7.5 hours at 11 kW at home. Top speed is 81 mph.

Three trims: You, Plus and Max. All three are generously equipped for what they are, and the differences are mostly comfort, lighting and parking aids rather than anything mechanical.
The entry trim, on 17-inch steel wheels with cloth upholstery, air conditioning and an electric parking brake. You get wireless smartphone mirroring with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear park assist, heated electric door mirrors, cruise control and a speed limiter. Navigation, a rear-view camera and dual-zone climate are available as options.
The You is currently available from £494.04 a month.
Plus keeps the 17-inch steel wheels and cloth trim but adds LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, privacy glass, front fog lights and power-folding door mirrors. Options here include a heated steering wheel, front parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring and a rear-view camera.
The Plus is currently available from £508.55 a month.
Max is the comfort-led trim: Claudia mistral leather upholstery, 17-inch "Phoenix" alloy wheels, heated and massaging front seats, electric lumbar support for driver and front passenger, keyless entry and go, a 180-degree colour reversing camera, front, rear and lateral parking sensors, built-in navigation, blind-spot monitoring and wireless phone charging. A fixed panoramic glass roof is optional.
The Max is currently available from £588.56 a month. Against the Plus, that is currently £80.02/mo more expensive.
If you're weighing up other large people carriers, the Kia PV5 and the Vauxhall Vivaro Life are worth a look. You can also see the wider Citroën leasing range if a smaller model would do the job.
