ENGINES AND PERFORMANCE FOR THE AUDI Q4 E-TRON
Drivers get the choice of two battery options for the Audi Q4 e-Tron car leasing range. There's a 52kW battery that delivers 212 miles in the SUV guise, and slightly more in the Sportback. Acceleration from 0 to 62 mph is swift and drivers will do this in less than nine seconds thanks to the power from the 170hp electric motor.
Opt for the Q4 e-Tron that has the 77kWh battery and you will enjoy 323 miles of range - and the Sportback will go further. The sprint time is 8.5 seconds from the impressive electric motor producing 204hp.
There's also a range-topper, the Q4 '50' e-tron offers all-wheel drive and two motors for a sprint time of 6.2 seconds. The range for the 77kWh battery is slightly less at 303 miles for the SUV.
The battery's regenerative system is excellent and using a fast charger, drivers can boost the battery to deliver 80 miles of range in just 10 minutes.
EQUIPMENT AND HANDLING FOR THE AUDI Q4 E-TRON
There are two models to choose from for those who want a battery-powered contract hire Audi Q4 e-Tron. Both are excellent offerings and it's available in SUV guise and also the Sportback which is a coupe-SUV.
The exterior sees a very large front grille holding the firm's four rings logo with thin headlights. The daytime running lights can be set to four different patterns for those who want to stand out on the road. Both body styles look similar but there's a distinctive silhouette for the Sportback from the side - which also impacts the headroom for those sitting in the rear seats.
Alloy wheels come in 19-to 21-inch sizes, and other equipment includes a 10.1-inch infotainment display that is fitted as standard with an 11.6-inch digital instrument display for higher-spec versions. The infotainment system is smartphone compatible and there's a head-up display using augmented-reality technology.
The SUV has a boot space of 525 litres, and it is slightly less for the Sportback because of its sloping roofline.
The Audi Q4 e-tron is built on the same platform as the Skoda Enyaq iV and the Volkswagen ID.4 - though it has the edge for comfort and handling. And since this is an Audi, the cabin is an impressive and comfortable place to spend time. There's lots of space and good visibility from the driver's seat.
The materials used in the cabin are premium and the design impresses.
Behind the wheel, the Q4 e-tron delivers a better driving experience than either the Enyaq iV and the ID.4.
The suspension deals with rough roads and there's good feedback to deliver an enjoyable drive on winding country roads. This is partly down to the adaptive torque vectoring system that will vary the dynamic weight distribution to deliver the nimble handling and enjoyment levels.
The vehicle has yet to be tested by Euro NCAP, but it is packed with safety kit and the Enyaq iV and the VW ID.4 were awarded five stars when tested for crash safety.
Essentially, the Audi Q4 e-tron is not only an impressive car to look at and drive, it's a cracking battery-powered offering in an increasingly competitive segment and for the money, it's an all-round excellent offering.
