Ford Explorer Lease Deals

The Ford Explorer is Ford's five-seat electric family SUV, offered in a single body with 82-84 kWh batteries and a WLTP range of up to 374 miles. This page explains the Style, Premium, Select and Collection trims and who each one suits.

The Ford Explorer is a five-seat electric SUV, 4.47 metres long, built as Ford's mainstream family EV rather than a big American-style seven-seater. If you want an electric car that still feels like a normal, practical Ford, this is the one to look at.

It suits families and commuters who can charge at home or at work, want a high driving position without a huge car to park, and would rather have physical usability than a stripped-out, screen-only cabin. Reviewers consistently note that it drives with a bit more life than several of its mechanical relatives.

The choice is simple: one SUV body, one electric powertrain family with rear- or all-wheel drive, and four trims - Style, Premium, Select and Collection.

About the Ford Explorer

The current Explorer is the seventh-generation car, on sale in this form since 2024. It seats five, measures 4.47 m long on a 2.77 m wheelbase, and comes with a three-year/60,000-mile manufacturer warranty.

Road testers generally praise the interior quality, the clever cabin storage and the handling, which feels sharper than several closely related electric SUVs. The common criticisms are a firm ride on broken surfaces and rear seat space that some rivals beat. Range is a strong point, with up to 374 miles (WLTP) from the most efficient version.

Why lease a Ford Explorer?

Because every Explorer arrives well equipped, and leasing keeps you inside the warranty period for the whole contract. Adaptive cruise control, built-in navigation, a digital instrument cluster, a rear-view camera and front and rear parking sensors are standard across the range.

So is the safety kit customers ask about most: blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beam and autonomous emergency braking. Euro NCAP awarded the Explorer five stars, with 89% for adult occupant protection and 86% for child occupant protection.

Practical details matter too. Dual-zone climate control, privacy glass and power-folding mirrors feature on every version, servicing is every 24 months, and the battery carries an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty guaranteeing 70% of capacity. There's a tyre repair kit rather than a spare wheel.

Which Explorer powertrain is right for me?

There's one answer here: the Explorer is electric only. Every version plugs in, drives through an automatic transmission, and comes with rear- or all-wheel drive depending on the version you pick.

Electric

Battery capacity runs from 82.0 to 84.0 kWh and power from 187 to 335 bhp, with 0-62 mph in 5.3 to 8.0 seconds. WLTP range is 273 to 374 miles, and the best version rapid-charges from 10-80% in 27 minutes at 185 kW, or in 4.6 hours at 11 kW on a home wallbox. It suits drivers with off-street charging.

Which Explorer trim should I choose?

Style and Premium are the everyday trims; Select and Collection are the more powerful versions. All four share the same five-seat body and the same core safety and navigation kit, so this is about wheels, trim materials and comfort features.

Style

The entry version has 187 bhp and rear-wheel drive, 19-inch Aero alloy wheels in absolute black with a bright machined finish, cloth upholstery, LED headlamps, navigation, a rear-view camera and front and rear parking sensors. A heat pump and a retractable towbar are available as options.

The Style is currently available from £383.41 a month.

Premium

Premium is the comfort-focused choice: a fixed panoramic glass sunroof, heated steering wheel, heated and massaging front seats, an electrically adjustable driver's seat with memory, inductive wireless phone charging, LED ambient lighting, matrix LED headlights, a hands-free tailgate, artificial leather and 20-inch Aero alloys.

The Premium is currently available from £423.56 a month. Against the Style, that is currently £40.15/mo more expensive.

Select

Now the quicker versions. Select steps up to 282 bhp with rear-wheel drive, so it feels noticeably brisker in traffic, and pairs that with artificial leather upholstery, 19-inch Aero alloys, LED headlights and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror. The heat pump and retractable towbar remain options.

The Select is currently available from £417.11 a month. Against the Premium, that is currently £6.46/mo cheaper. Best value

Collection

Collection keeps the 282 bhp rear-wheel-drive setup and adds presence and comfort: 20-inch Exclusive alloy wheels in black, a heated steering wheel, LED ambient lighting and a massage function for the driver's seat. It's the dressed-up take on the same car.

The Collection is currently available from £512.45 a month. Against the Select, that is currently £95.34/mo more expensive.

Ford Explorer FAQs

Yes, for families of up to five. It scored five stars with Euro NCAP, including 86% for child occupant protection, and every version has rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera and rear cross-traffic alert. Reviewers rate the cabin storage highly, though some rivals offer more rear legroom.

Official WLTP range runs from 273 to 374 miles depending on the version, with efficiency of 3.6 to 4.3 miles per kWh. Real-world range always falls short of the official number in cold weather or at motorway speeds. Our electric car guide explains how WLTP figures work.

The best version charges from 10-80% in 27 minutes on a 185 kW rapid charger, or 4.6 hours at 11 kW on a home or workplace unit. Most drivers top up overnight and only use rapid chargers on longer trips. See our guide to charging an electric car.

It can tow up to 1,000 kg braked and 750 kg unbraked, with a 75 kg roof load. That covers a small trailer or a compact caravan, not a large twin-axle one. A retractable towbar is available as a factory option, so specify it before the order goes in.

Three years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first, plus an eight-year/100,000-mile battery warranty guaranteeing at least 70% of capacity. Paintwork is covered for three years and there's a 12-year anti-corrosion guarantee. Servicing is every 24 months, which suits most lease terms neatly.

It depends entirely on what's available at the time, because rentals move as stock and funder terms change. The Style is currently from £383.41 a month. The honest answer is to check the live Ford Explorer deals below and compare like-for-like terms.

The Comfort Pack, Driver Assist Pack and combined Comfort/Driver Assist pack are factory options, not trims, so they have to be chosen at order. A heat pump is also optional and worth considering if you do winter motorway miles. Ask our team which packs the version you want supports.

Specifications from Ford's UK data and Euro NCAP; equipment, range and availability vary by version, so check the individual deal before you order.
