New Peugeot e-208 powertrain offers 248 miles of range

Next year will see the contract hire Peugeot e-208 offering 15% more power and an impressive battery-powered range of 248 miles.

That’s around 10.5% more than the car currently offers, and the new electric powertrain is the same as was unveiled for the Peugeot e-308.

The carmaker says that there is a major technological shift coming next year for the motor with it producing between 136 bhp and 156 bhp.

There’s no doubt that the e-208 has been a popular car with lots of technology and it has a dynamic driving experience – the improved range will boost its attractive features even further.

The new contract hire Peugeot e-208 will offer 248 miles of range with its new electric powertrain.

Peugeot e-208 car leasing range

The Peugeot e-208 car leasing range has already had its battery range improved to 225 miles from 217 miles already this year.

That’s when Peugeot added better A+ tyres and an improved transmission ratio that helps to boost range went on motorway and road journeys.

There’s also a heat pump with a humidity sensor to help maximise the efficiency of the air conditioning and heating system.

The sensor is located on top of the windscreen to help judge the temperature in the cabin more accurately.

Peugeot says that drivers will notice the improvements, particularly when outside temperatures are very low and worries over poor battery performance when temperatures fall will see the car gaining 24 miles of range when temperatures plummet to zero in urban traffic as a result.

Peugeot e-208 lease

There are also two types of chargers available onboard for the Peugeot e-208 lease range to suit a range of charging solutions.

The standard charger is a 7.4 kW in single phase, but there’s the option of a three-phase 11 kW charger.

And the latest model is capable of fast charging when using a 100 kW charging point which will see the battery being recharged to 80% of its capacity in under 25 minutes.

Improved range will be available from next year

The e-208 with the improved range will be available from next year in the UK and it’s a great car to lease.

The handling and grip make it a rewarding car to drive, and the zero emissions make it particularly attractive to company car drivers, for example.

It has also been a big success since its launch in 2019 and nearly 120,000 versions have been produced for drivers – it is the leading seller in Europe this year in the electric ‘B’ segment.
