It suits families and company-car drivers who want space and calm rather than drama, and who cover enough motorway miles to care about how far a car goes between charges. At 4.80 metres long with a 523-litre boot, it's a sensible size for a British driveway.
The choice is simple: one SUV body, one electric powertrain family with a choice of battery and driven wheels, and two trims - Plus and Ultra.

The EX60 is Volvo's electric SUV, and the model the brand has built its current electric strategy around. Five seats, a 523-litre boot with the rear seats up and 998 litres folded, and a three-year, 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty with a separate ten-year, 150,000-mile battery warranty.
Reviewers consistently describe it as quiet, comfortable and unusually efficient, with long-distance refinement rated above outright driver involvement. Road testers also note that it feels wide on narrow streets, and that most climate and vehicle settings live in the touchscreen rather than on physical buttons.
Volvo's safety reputation is well earned, and the EX60 carries it forward with a deep list of driver-assistance systems fitted as standard.
Because the standard specification is generous enough that you don't need to chase options. Every EX60 has adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, self-steering parking, heated front and rear seats, three-zone climate control and a fixed panoramic glass roof.
Safety kit is standard across the range too: autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, active lane-change assist and traffic sign recognition. A heat pump is fitted as standard, which matters in a British winter, and so is built-in navigation with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
On practicality, the boot holds 523 litres seats up, there's a hands-free tailgate, and braked towing reaches up to 2,400 kg on the strongest versions. The turning circle is 11.3 metres.
There's one answer here, because the EX60 is electric only - but the battery size and the number of driven wheels change what you get.
Batteries run from 83 kWh to 117 kWh, with 369 to 671 bhp and rear- or all-wheel drive. WLTP range stretches to 503 miles on the largest battery, and it's automatic. Rapid charging reaches 10-80% in 18 minutes at 370 kW on the best version.
In practice, the entry 369 bhp rear-wheel-drive version is quick enough for most drivers at 5.9 seconds to 62 mph, while the strongest version manages 3.9 seconds. Efficiency across the range is quoted at 3.9 to 4.2 miles per kWh. You'll want a home charge point if you can fit one.

Two trims, and the gap between them is comfort and cabin feel rather than safety or technology - almost everything important is already standard on the entry car.
Plus is the entry trim, on 20-inch "5 Spoke" alloy wheels with cloth upholstery, starting as a 369 bhp rear-wheel-drive car. It brings wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated front seats, a 360-degree surround-view camera with 3D view, front and rear park assist, adaptive cruise control, matrix LED headlights and a powered tailgate. Privacy glass and a retractable towbar are available as options.
The Plus is currently available from £689.34 a month.
Ultra moves to 21-inch "5 Spoke" alloy wheels and adds an electrochromic panoramic roof that you can dim at the touch of a button, multi-directional lumbar support in the front seats and privacy glass. Cloth upholstery is retained, and a retractable towbar remains a factory option.
The Ultra is currently available from £733.13 a month. Against the Plus, that is currently £43.79/mo more expensive.
