View dealThe Škoda Kodiaq is a large five-door family SUV, sold in one body style with five or seven seats depending on the version you choose. It sits at the top of Škoda's SUV range and is built around space first: a boot of up to 910 litres with the rear seats up, and about 4.76 metres of length to park.
It suits families who want one car to cover the school run, the holiday load and the motorway miles, plus caravanners and anyone who tows, with braked towing of up to 2,500 kg on the right version.
The choice is straightforward. One body, three powertrains - Petrol, Diesel and Plug-in hybrid - and six trims, from SE up to the performance vRS.

The Kodiaq is the practical, unflashy end of the large SUV class: a 4.76 m long, 1.86 m wide SUV with a 2.79 m wheelbase, five or seven seats, and a boot ranging from 340 to 910 litres with the seats up depending on version.
It arrived in 2016 and became Škoda's best-known family car; this is the second-generation version, on sale in this form since 2024.
Reviewers consistently praise the space, the sensible cabin controls and a ride tuned for comfort rather than corner speed, and it has won large-family-car awards more than once. The usual criticism is that the engines get vocal when worked hard. Every version carries a 3-year / 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty and a 5-star Euro NCAP rating.
Because the kit you actually use every day is standard on every Kodiaq, whichever trim you pick. Heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, wireless phone charging, built-in navigation, a digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and three-zone climate control are all included across the range.
So is a solid safety set: blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition, a rear-view camera and front and rear parking sensors. Euro NCAP awarded five stars, with 89% for adult occupant protection and 83% for child occupant protection.
On practicality, the numbers do the talking - up to 910 litres of boot space with the rear seats up, up to 2,105 litres folded, and an 11.2 m turning circle that keeps a car this size manageable in town.
All three are automatic, so the decision is really about mileage, charging and whether you want all-wheel drive.
The broadest choice: 148-261 bhp from 1.5 and 2.0-litre four-cylinder engines, a 7-speed automatic, and front- or all-wheel drive. WLTP economy runs from 33.8 to 47.9 mpg depending on version. Nothing to plug in, and the quickest version covers 0-62 mph in 6.4 seconds.
The 2-litre diesel gives 148-190 bhp with 360-400 Nm of torque, a 7-speed automatic and front- or all-wheel drive. WLTP economy of 44.2-53.4 mpg and braked towing of 2,000-2,500 kg make it the one to look at if you do big motorway miles or tow regularly.
A 1.5-litre turbo petrol paired with a 25.7 kWh battery (19.7 kWh usable) for 201 bhp, a 6-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. It needs charging to make sense: 0-100% takes about 2.5 hours at 11 kW on the best version, or 10-80% in 26 minutes at 40 kW. It has a 745-litre boot.

Then there's the performance Kodiaq.
The quick one: 261 bhp Petrol, all-wheel drive, and the quickest Kodiaq in the range. Over SportLine it adds 20-inch "Elias Black" polished alloys, part leather upholstery, a hands-free tailgate and sports suspension. The vRS is currently available from £591.70 a month. Against the SportLine, that is currently £260.02/mo more expensive.
