Mercedes-Benz GLA Lease Deals

The Mercedes-Benz GLA is Mercedes-Benz's compact five-seat SUV, offered as petrol, diesel, plug-in hybrid or electric, with a boot of 410 to 495 litres and a 5-star Euro NCAP rating. This page explains the powertrain and trim choices so you can pick the right version before browsing live lease deals.

The Mercedes-Benz GLA is the compact five-seat SUV that sits at the accessible end of the Mercedes-Benz range: a raised, family-sized body with the brand's cabin tech, offered with petrol, diesel, plug-in hybrid or fully electric power.

It suits drivers who want a premium badge and a comfortable, easy-driving car for school runs, commuting and the occasional long haul, without moving up to something the size of a GLC. Every version is automatic, and all-wheel drive is available on several of them.

The choice is simpler than it looks: one SUV body, four powertrains, seven everyday trims from Sport Edition up to AMG Line Premium Plus, and two performance AMG models.

About the Mercedes-Benz GLA

The GLA is Mercedes-Benz's smallest SUV, a car-like crossover rather than an off-roader, built around five seats and a boot of 410 to 495 litres depending on which version you pick.

Reviewers have consistently praised the GLA for a smart, screen-led interior and comfortable, refined motorway manners, while noting it's a car chosen for comfort rather than corner-carving. Road testers also point out that rear space improved with the current GLA.

It's about 4.41 m long, carries a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, and comes with a 3-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty. Braked towing runs up to 2,000 kg on the strongest versions, which is unusual for a car this size.

Why lease a Mercedes-Benz GLA?

Because the GLA arrives well equipped whichever version you choose, and leasing lets you hold a fixed monthly cost across the warranty period. Heated front seats, keyless entry and start, a digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on every GLA.

So is the safety kit that matters day to day: autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, automatic high beam, LED headlights and front and rear parking sensors. Euro NCAP awarded five stars, with 96% for adult occupant protection.

Practically, you get five seats, five doors, adaptive suspension and a tyre repair kit rather than a spare. Servicing is every 12 months or 12,500 to 15,500 miles depending on version, which is worth checking against your annual mileage before you order.

Which GLA powertrain is right for me?

Four choices: petrol, diesel, plug-in hybrid or electric. All are automatic, and your decision mostly comes down to whether you can charge at home and how many motorway miles you cover.

Petrol

Petrol GLAs run from 134 bhp to 415 bhp, automatic, with front- or all-wheel drive available. Nothing to plug in and nothing to plan around, so this is the straightforward option if your mileage is mixed and mostly local.

Diesel

The 2-litre diesel produces 148 to 187 bhp, drives through an automatic gearbox and comes with front- or all-wheel drive. WLTP economy of 47.1 to 52.3 mpg makes it the sensible pick for high motorway mileage or regular towing.

Plug-in hybrid

A 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine paired with a 13 kWh battery gives 215 bhp, automatic, front-wheel drive. It does need charging to make sense: plug in at home and short trips can run on electricity, and company car drivers usually benefit most.

Electric

The electric GLA uses an 85 kWh battery, produces 268 to 349 bhp, and is automatic with rear- or all-wheel drive available. Electric range reaches up to 406 miles (WLTP) on the most efficient version, and rapid charging peaks at 320 kW. Our electric car guide covers charging basics.

Which GLA trim should I choose?

Mercedes-Benz GLA FAQs

For a family of four, yes. It has five seats, five doors and a 5-star Euro NCAP rating with 90% for child occupant protection, plus autonomous emergency braking and lane-keep assist on every version. Three adults across the back is a squeeze.

Between 410 and 495 litres with the rear seats up, depending on the version, rising to 1,385 to 1,430 litres with them folded. Petrol versions have the largest load bay at 485 to 495 litres; the electric GLA offers 410 litres.

It will drive without being plugged in, but you won't see the benefit. The 13 kWh battery charges at up to 11 kW, taking around 75 minutes from 10-100% on the best version, so a home wallbox or workplace charger makes it worthwhile.

Braked towing ranges from 1,500 kg to 2,000 kg depending on the version, with 750 kg unbraked. Diesel versions are rated at 1,800 to 2,000 kg braked. A towbar is a factory option on several trims, so specify it before you order - it can't be added later on a lease car without permission.

Three years with unlimited mileage, which covers most lease terms. Electric versions add a battery warranty of six to eight years guaranteeing 70% of capacity. There's also a 3-year paintwork guarantee and a 30-year anti-corrosion guarantee.

It depends entirely on what's available at the time - the cheapest version changes as offers are refreshed, and a higher list price doesn't always mean a higher monthly rental. The entry Sport Edition is currently from £497.29 a month. Check the current GLA deals, and our guide to choosing your car helps with mileage and term.

Specifications from Mercedes-Benz's UK data and Euro NCAP; equipment, range and availability vary by version, so check the individual deal before ordering.
