It suits drivers who want a raised driving position and a smart cabin without a car that fills a parking bay. Families with young children, commuters and downsizers are the natural fit; four adults on a long trip less so.

The 2008 is Peugeot's small SUV, and the current car is the second-generation model, on sale in this form since 2023. A small number of previous-shape versions may still be available while stocks last.
Reviewers consistently praise the styling and the cabin, which looks and feels more expensive than the class average, and they rate the 2008 as a quiet, comfortable cruiser rather than a sharp-handling one. The recurring criticism is space: it's a compact SUV, and rear head and leg room is tight for taller adults.
Practically, you get five seats, five doors, a 434-litre boot with the rear seats up and 1,467 litres with them folded. Every 2008 comes with a three-year or 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty.
One more thing worth knowing before you commit: Peugeot's small steering wheel and high-set instruments divide opinion. Sit in one.
Because the standard equipment list is generous across all four trims, and leasing keeps you in a car that's covered by its manufacturer warranty for the usual contract lengths. Every 2008 has a digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, air conditioning and LED headlights.
Safety and parking kit is standard too: autonomous emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and an electric parking brake. Privacy glass, roof rails and power-folding door mirrors are fitted across the range.

There are two: a 1.2-litre turbo petrol, or a 54 kWh electric version. Both drive the front wheels.
A three-cylinder engine with 100 to 143 bhp, offered with a manual or an automatic gearbox. WLTP economy runs from 45.0 to 62.4 mpg depending on version, and 0-62 mph takes between 8.3 and 10.8 seconds. It's the choice if you can't charge at home.
One motor, 154 bhp, automatic, with a WLTP range of up to 248 miles. Charging is up to 50 kW, giving 0-80% in 53 minutes on the best version, or a full charge in 4.5 hours at 11 kW at home. Best suited to drivers with off-street parking - our charging guide covers the basics.

Four trims, and the jumps between them are small. Here's what each one actually adds.
The starting point, with 17-inch "Karakoy" alloy wheels, part-leather upholstery, Eco LED headlights, wireless smartphone mirroring with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, front and rear parking sensors, lane-keep assist and an enhanced camera-and-radar emergency braking system. Adaptive cruise control, a rear-view camera, navigation and a detachable towbar are available as options.
The Allure is currently available from £219.86 a month.
Envy keeps the Allure's 17-inch wheels and part-leather trim, and adds Peugeot's Open & Go keyless entry and start plus a rear-view camera. Wireless phone charging, built-in navigation, blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control remain options here.
The Envy is currently available from £299.35 a month. Against the Allure, that is currently £79.49/mo more expensive.
GT brings full LED headlights with smartbeam assist and automatic height adjustment, voice recognition for radio, navigation and phone, eight-colour personalisable ambient lighting and front sports seats. Heated and massaging front seats and an electrically adjustable driver's seat join the options list.

The most equipped version: 18-inch Evissa diamond-cut black mist alloy wheels, Alcantara upholstery, and a navigation pack with wireless charger. It also adds adaptive cruise control, a rear-view camera and blind-spot monitoring as standard, with an opening panoramic roof available as an option.
