EQUIPMENT AND HANDLING FOR THE HYUNDAI IONIQ 5

One of the big attractions for the excellent contract hire Hyundai Ioniq 5 is the battery range to make it a sound choice for families and those who may have 'range anxiety'. The 58kWh battery with the electric motor producing 168 bhp offers a range of 238 miles.

The larger battery with the motor producing 214 bhp delivers the best range of 298 miles, while the range-topper producing 301 bhp delivers 267 miles.
The battery is capable of rapid charging so it can be recharged to 80% of its capacity in 18 minutes.

And since this is a zero-emissions vehicle, company car drivers will be interested in the 1% Benefit-in-Kind tax rate for 2021, and 2% in 2022.
Also, there's no road tax to pay and the running costs are lower when using electricity.

There's no doubt too that this is a stylish and attractive car, it looks different from its rivals with an impressive interior too.

Drivers get a retro-style creation and a pair of 12.3-inch digital displays - one is for the infotainment and satnav, the other is for the car's information.

There's a grey cloth upholstery fitted as standard, and a dark leather option is worth considering for families.

Standard equipment includes 19-inch alloy wheels, smart cruise control, a rear-view monitor and a smartphone wireless charging pad.
Other models feature heated front seats, upgraded upholstery and a heated steering wheel.

The infotainment system is excellent and easy to use, and the range-topping versions offer a Bose stereo system and a head-up display. This is a very comfortable and refined car with plenty of space in the cabin to enjoy. The handling is nimble, the suspension deals with rough roads and it's a superb cruiser on long motorway journeys.

It's also a safe car to drive and though it is yet to be crash-tested by Euro NCAP, it is likely that this will be a safe car and safety equipment includes intelligent speed limit assist, highway drive assist and forward collision avoidance assist.
