The GV60 Magma is the performance flagship of the Genesis electric range: a 4.64 m SUV with five seats, a 670-litre boot and a five-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty behind it. Genesis quotes up to 264 miles of WLTP range.
Reviewers who have driven it consistently praise two things. First, the way it manufactures drama behind the wheel, and most road testers came away grinning rather than rolling their eyes. Second, the fact that it stays composed and quiet when you stop playing, thanks to adaptive suspension.
The common criticism is the obvious one for a fast EV: drive it hard and the range drops away quickly. Kerb weight is 2,240 kg, and testers note you feel it under heavy braking.
Because there's nothing to add. The GV60 Magma arrives with the equipment most rivals charge for: a 27-inch integrated panoramic OLED infotainment and cluster display, augmented reality navigation, matrix LED headlights, a head-up display and a 360-degree camera.
Comfort kit is thorough too - heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, electric seat memory, dual-zone climate, wireless phone charging, a powered tailgate and a heat pump that helps protect range in cold weather.
Driver assistance covers adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, active lane-change assist, autonomous emergency braking, automatic parking assist and front and rear parking sensors. Practically, you get 670 litres behind the rear seats and 1,440 litres with them folded.
