Volvo EX90 Lease Deals

The Volvo EX90 is the brand's seven-seat electric flagship SUV, offering up to 384.6 miles of WLTP range, a five-star Euro NCAP rating and a generous standard kit list. This page explains the powertrain, the Core, Plus and Ultra trims, and how to choose between them before you view live lease deals.

The Volvo EX90 is a seven-seat electric SUV and the largest car in Volvo's line-up. It's aimed at families who want three rows of seats, a calm and quiet cabin and a genuinely long electric range, without shouting about any of it.

There's one body style, one powertrain family and three trims. Every EX90 is a five-door, 5.04-metre SUV with a 92–111 kWh battery, an automatic and either rear- or all-wheel drive, in Core, Plus or Ultra specification.

If you already know the shape of the range, the live deals sit further down this page. If you don't, the rest of this page walks through the choice.

About the Volvo EX90

The EX90 is Volvo's electric flagship, a seven-seater with a 3-year / 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty and a 5-star Euro NCAP rating behind it.

Reviewers consistently praise the refinement, the seats and the sense of calm inside. It's a quiet, unhurried thing to cover distance in, and the second row is properly spacious, while the third row is better suited to children than to adults on long trips.

The common criticisms are just as consistent: a lot of secondary functions live in the touchscreen, and real-world efficiency in cold weather falls short of the WLTP figure, which is true of most large, heavy electric SUVs. Boot space runs from 310 to 324 litres behind the third row depending on version, rising to between 1,915 and 2,135 litres with the seats folded.

Why lease a Volvo EX90?

Because the standard specification is unusually complete, which matters more on a lease than on a purchase: you're paying for the car for a fixed period, so kit you'd otherwise have to option is kit you keep.

Every EX90 gets a fixed panoramic glass roof, heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, four-zone climate control, keyless entry and start, wireless charging, built-in navigation, Apple CarPlay and a heat pump. Safety and assistance kit is standard across the range too: autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition and front and rear parking sensors. Euro NCAP scored it 92% for adult occupant protection and 93% for child occupants.

Servicing falls every 24 months or 18,000 miles, and the battery carries its own 8-year / 100,000-mile warranty, which outlasts any normal lease term.

Which EX90 powertrain is right for me?

There's one: fully electric. Every EX90 plugs in, and the choice within it is about how much power and how many driven wheels you want.

Electric

Battery capacity runs from 92 to 111 kWh and power from 275 to 671 bhp, with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive and an automatic throughout. WLTP range reaches up to 384.6 miles on the best version. Rapid charging takes 10–80% in 22 minutes at 350 kW on the fastest version; a 7.2 kW home charger fills it in around 16 hours. If you can charge at home or at work, it suits almost any family use. If you can't, our guide to charging an electric car is worth ten minutes before you order.

Which EX90 trim should I choose?

Three trims: Core and Plus for everyday use, then Ultra above them. All three share the same core safety and comfort kit, so the differences are narrower than the names suggest.

Core

Core starts at 328 bhp with rear-wheel drive, on 20-inch five-spoke alloy wheels with cloth upholstery. It includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the fixed panoramic glass sunroof, a heated steering wheel, front, rear and side parking sensors and a hands-free power tailgate. A 360-degree camera, privacy glass and a retractable towbar are available as options. The Core is currently available from £735.37 a month.

Plus

Plus moves to 21-inch eight-spoke alloys and adds multi-directional lumbar support to the front seats, plus a head-up display and the 360-degree camera as standard. Privacy glass and the retractable towbar remain options. Worth a look if you regularly do long motorway runs. The Plus is currently available from £820.79 a month. Against the Core, that is currently £85.42/mo more expensive.

Ultra

Ultra is the performance version: 450 bhp and all-wheel drive, so noticeably quicker and more surefooted in poor weather. It rides on 22-inch five-spoke alloys and adds an electrochromic fixed panoramic sunroof that dims at the touch of a button, front massage seats and privacy glass, with the retractable towbar still optional. The Ultra is currently available from £942.60 a month. Against the Plus, that is currently £121.81/mo more expensive.

One practical note before you pick: braked towing runs from 1,200 kg up to 2,200 kg depending on the version, so if you tow, check the figure on the specific derivative rather than assuming the headline.

Similar cars to consider

The Polestar 3 shares much of the EX90's engineering in a lower, five-seat form. The Kia EV9 is the obvious seven-seat electric alternative, while the Audi Q6 and smaller Audi Q4 cover similar ground with five seats. More options sit on our Volvo leasing page.

Volvo EX90 FAQs

Yes. It has seven seats, five doors and four-zone climate control as standard, with heated front and rear seats throughout the range. Reviewers rate the space in the first two rows highly; the third row is best treated as children's seating rather than adult seating.

Between 310 and 324 litres behind the third row, depending on the version, which is about the size of a small hatchback boot. Fold the rear seats and that grows to between 1,915 and 2,135 litres. There's a tyre repair kit rather than a spare wheel.

Up to 384.6 miles on the WLTP test on the best version, with the range starting at 346 miles elsewhere in the line-up. Official efficiency is 2.9 miles per kWh. Expect less in cold weather, as with any large electric SUV. Our electric car guide explains how to plan for that.

Yes, up to 2,200 kg braked on the strongest version, with a range of 1,200 to 2,200 kg across the line-up and 750 kg unbraked. A retractable towbar is a factory option on Core, Plus and Ultra, and it has to be specified at order, so tell us before the car is built.

Three years or 60,000 miles from Volvo, whichever comes first, alongside an 8-year / 100,000-mile battery warranty, a 3-year paintwork guarantee and a 12-year anti-corrosion guarantee. Servicing is due every 24 months or 18,000 miles.

It depends on what's available at the time. Rentals move with the deals in the market, so the cheapest trim today isn't always the cheapest next month. The Core is currently from £735.37 a month. Check the live deals below or ask our team to compare terms and mileages for you.

It sits in insurance groups 49 to 50, which is high, so get a quote before you commit. On a lease the car has to be fully comprehensively insured for the whole term, and that cost is separate from your monthly rental.

Specifications from Volvo's UK data and Euro NCAP; equipment and availability vary by version, so check the individual deal before ordering.
