BMW 4 Series Coupe Lease Deals

The BMW 4 Series Coupe is the two-door, four-seat version of BMW's compact executive car, built around the driver rather than the school run. It's 4.77 m long, carries four people and swallows 440 litres of luggage with the rear seats up.

It sits above the smaller 2 Series in BMW's line-up and below the outright M cars, and every version on sale here is petrol with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, depending on the version you pick.

About the BMW 4 Series Coupe

This is the second-generation 4 Series, on sale in this form since 2021. It's a four-seat coupe with two doors, a 440-litre boot and a three-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty, and it can tow up to 1,800 kg braked depending on the version.

Reviewers consistently praise the way it drives - composed, quick to turn in, and noticeably more agile than the saloon it's based on. The tall kidney grille divides opinion, and road testers regularly note the firm low-speed ride on big wheels. Nobody argues with the cabin quality or the infotainment.

Rear headroom is the honest compromise: adults fit, but tall ones will feel the sloping roof, and there's no rear door to climb through.

4 Series Coupe or 4 Series Convertible or 4 Series Hatchback?

The Coupe is the practical two-door of the three. Its 440-litre boot beats the 4 Series Convertible's 385 litres, and at 1,525-1,770 kg it's the lightest of the three. The Convertible trades that for a folding roof, at a similar height to the Coupe.

The 4 Series Hatchback is the sensible one: five seats, five doors, 470 litres seats-up and 1,290 litres folded, at 4.78 m long and 1.44 m tall. All three tow 1,600-1,800 kg braked. If you're still weighing it up, the full BMW 4 Series range is worth a look.

Why lease a BMW 4 Series Coupe?

Because the standard kit list is strong and the equipment gaps between versions are small. Every 4 Series Coupe has heated front seats, front sports seats, built-in navigation, a digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, sports suspension and paddle shifters.

Safety and parking kit is standard too: autonomous emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, self-steering parking and LED headlights. Useful in a car whose thick rear pillars and shallow back window make judging a tight space harder than it should be.

Servicing is every 24 months or 18,000 miles, there's a tyre repair kit rather than a spare, and the fuel tank holds 59 litres. Insurance sits in groups 30-39 depending on version - worth a quote before you order.

Which 4 Series Coupe powertrain is right for me?

There's one fuel here, so the decision is really about how much power you want and whether you need all-wheel drive. Every version is automatic and none needs plugging in.

Petrol

Petrol engines run from 181 bhp to 387 bhp, with 300-540 Nm of torque, 2.0-3.0 litres and four or six cylinders. Nothing to charge, an eight-speed automatic throughout, 0-62 mph in 4.4-7.5 seconds and WLTP economy of 39.8-44.8 mpg. CO2 is 144-162 g/km. Rear- or all-wheel drive.

M Sport

The entry version has 181 bhp and rear-wheel drive, on 18-inch Double Spoke Style 848m alloys with cloth upholstery. It brings a three-spoke flat-bottom M Sport leather multifunction steering wheel, a park assist pack, an ambient lighting pack, wireless phone charging, automatic parking assist and voice control.

M Sport Pro

M Sport Pro adds adaptive LED headlights, automatic high beam and privacy glass, and moves up to 19-inch Double Spoke Style 995m alloys. Upholstery stays cloth. Both everyday trims offer the same options list, including adaptive cruise control, an opening panoramic roof, a heated steering wheel, keyless entry and start, and rear cross-traffic alert.

M440i

Then there's the performance one. The M440i uses 387 bhp with all-wheel drive as standard, on 18-inch Double Spoke Style 848m alloys, and adds an electrically adjustable driver's seat with memory. It's the version with the proper straight-six soundtrack, and it's quick - 0-62 mph from 4.4 seconds.

Tech Pack, Pro Pack and combined Tech/Pro packs are offered as add-ons rather than separate trims, and lane-keep assist and active lane-change assist are options on the M440i. Which packs a particular car carries varies, so check the individual deal before you order.
