The all-new Renault Captur offers more sophistication and style.

There’s a lot to recommend the Renault Captur as a small SUV with the carmaker boosting handling and sophistication levels.

The all-new offering has been given a new interior and a refreshed exterior styling and there are also advanced driver assistance technologies available along with innovative infotainment features.

And, from 2020, Renault says there will be a plug-in hybrid powertrain available with the model offering an impressive all-electric range before switching to petrol power.

Engines for the Renault Captur

Engines for the Renault Captur have been revamped as well with the petrol and diesel units offering power and economy.

From launch, there are three petrol engines available including a turbocharged 1.0 litre TCe unit with three cylinders delivering 100 PS.

The 1.3 litre TCe engine delivers 130 PS and is mated to a six-speed manual box with the option of a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. There’s also a version of the 1.3 litre engine producing 155 PS for better levels of performance and unit delivers torque of 270 Nm.

There are also two diesel units that will be attractive options for those with high mileages and consist of 1.5 litre Blue dCI engine producing either 95 PS or 115 PS.

In comparison, the hybrid will deliver a range of 28 miles in all-electric mode so most users will be able to use the vehicle for short trips without using any petrol.

The all-new Renault Captur is stronger, lighter and safer than the model it replaces with LED headlights being fitted a standard.

There’s also a ‘smart cockpit’ available as an option that utilises a 9.3-inch infotainment screen.

Another of another option is to have a 10-inch TFT instrument cluster fitted – which is worth considering.

The new model offers a larger boot and a bigger cabin and the sliding rear seats will move for versatility.

Among the driver assistance features are highway traffic jam companion and there’s a wide range of customisation options.

Along with 11 bodywork colour choices, there are five other options for the door mirrors and roof colours – in total, potential owners have a combination of 90 colours to choose from.

The new interior will set new standards for the segment and it resembles the impressive new Renault Clio with its smart cockpit.

This means that everything is ergonomically designed for the driver, so everything is close to hand and it creates an immersive driving experience.

There’s a lot to like about the new Renault Captur and it offers a lot for the money and a comfortable driving experience drivers will enjoy.
