Revamped Renault Clio E-Tech has been launched

The ever-popular contract hire Renault Clio E-Tech has been revamped and is now a full hybrid.

And with more than 1.1 million units sold in the UK since 1990, the latest incarnation has big shoes to fill.

The choice of trims now includes an Alpine offering which offers a technological and sporty alternative.

Renault has also developed a sharper face for its new model and added more kit.

The contract hire Renault Clio has been revamped with a raft of updates to boost the popularity of this excellent supermini.

Renault Clio E-Tech car lease range

The Renault Clio E-Tech car lease range has one powertrain that is mated to an automatic gearbox.

The petrol engine has four gears, while the electric motor has two and the motor will be the initial power source. Renault says the battery will fuel up to 80% of journeys.

The hybrid develops 143 bhp and over short distances, drivers can use battery power at speeds of up to 40 mph.

Fuel economy is around 65 mpg, and the emissions are 93g/km – that’s slightly better than the current Clio E-Tech.

Renault says that with more than 150 patents, it has also utilised its F1 expertise to deliver a dynamic and efficient car.

Interior for the new Clio E-Tech

The interior of the new Clio E-Tech has also been improved and is a refined offering.

The dashboard, door panels and seat trim use a sustainable fabric made from wood.

Renault has also updated the dashboard with a new ageless display that, according to the trim selected, will be between seven and 10 inches in size.

There’s also a new multimedia system with Wi-Fi smartphone connection and built-in satnav.

The espirit Alpine trim utilises the Alpine brand’s hallmarks and joins with Renault’s stylish take on car design.

This model adds 17-inch alloys and new badging, among other additions.

New Renault Clio lease range

As should be expected, the new Renault Clio lease range has long list of standard equipment including wireless smartphone charging, hands-free entry and automatic air-conditioning.

Safety features include traffic sign recognition, automatic emergency braking and cruise control.

Renault says that the safety kit makes this full hybrid one of the safest vehicles in the segment.

There’s no doubt that the new Renault Clio E-Tech car lease range is entering a competitive supermini market and there’s a lot to like about the new offering, including low running costs and plenty of impressive refinement.
