The Volvo V60 Sportswagon is a great looking estate car with high comfort and equipment levels. There's also an impressive amount of safety equipment too.
Underneath the sleek lines of the Volvo V60 Sportswagon is a range of diesel and petrol engines which are couple to automatic or manual gearboxes. Of the engines, the smallest T3 petrol unit will return 49 mpg while the Volvo V60 Polestar has the larger 3.0 litre turbo engine which produces 345 bhp but the economy drops to 28 mpg.
The most efficient motoring will come in the V60 D2 which will return 74 mpg though the best performance is probably in the D4 with its diesel unit producing 187 bhp and helping the car travel from 0 to 62 mph in 7.7 seconds while returning 71 mpg. There's better economy in the D6 hybrid which can return 155mpg.
The Volvo V60 Sportswagon is a well-balanced car and offers lots of grip with responsive and assured handling. The ride itself is comfortable and refined with the 'floating' centre console being feature of a nicely designed dashboard.
There's also plenty of room in the cabin and drivers have the option of several trim levels with lots of kit fitted as standard including satnav, climate control, cruise control and a 7-inch display screen. Other models come with larger alloy wheels, rain sensing wipers, automatic folding door mirrors, leather interior, electrically adjustable driver's seat and xenon headlights. The R-Design models have sporty trims and additions.
As drivers would expect, there's lots of safety equipment on-board including electronic stability control, traction control and emergency braking which will see the car apply its brakes to prevent an imminent collision. There's also a wide range of airbags.
Essentially, the Volvo V60 Sportswagon is a mid-size estate car offering drivers a viable and comfortable alternative to its rivals with lots of space and practical ideas on board.
