MINI Cooper Hatchback Lease Deals

The MINI Cooper Hatchback is a small premium three- or five-door hatch offered with petrol or electric power, sharp handling and a distinctive circular-screen cabin. This page explains the powertrains, the trims and who each version suits before you pick a lease deal.

The MINI Cooper Hatchback is the small, style-led hatchback at the heart of MINI's range - roughly 3.86 to 4.04 m long, depending on version, 4 or 5 seats depending on version, and offered with either petrol or electric power.

It suits drivers who want a compact car with character and quick, direct steering, and who don't need much rear space or boot room. Reviewers consistently praise the handling and the cabin design, and just as consistently note the firm ride.

The choice on this page is straightforward: one body style, two powertrains, and a long list of trims that mix wheel designs, upholstery and comfort kit. Offers change constantly, so see what's live in the deals below.

About the MINI Cooper Hatchback

This is the current Cooper, on sale in this form since 2024. It's a premium small hatchback with 3 to 5 doors, 4 or 5 seats, a boot of 210 to 275 litres depending on version, and a 3-year unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty.

The Cooper name goes back to the 1960s competition cars, and MINI still leans on that: quick steering, a low driving position and a cabin built around a circular central screen. Road testers repeatedly call it genuinely fun on a twisty road, and repeatedly warn that the suspension thumps over poor surfaces.

Practicality is the trade-off. Space up front is good, the rear is tight, and the boot is modest - but it holds a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, with adult occupant scores of 83-89% across the versions tested.

Cooper Hatchback or Cooper Convertible?

The Hatchback is the practical one. It carries 4 or 5 seats and a 210-275 litre boot, against 4 seats and 160 litres for the Cooper Convertible with its rear seats up.

The Convertible is 3.88 m long and 1.43 m tall, with two doors; fold its rear seats and you get 215 litres. If you want the open roof and rarely use the back, that's the one. If you'd rather have doors for passengers and a usable load bay, stay here. You can see both together on the full MINI Cooper range page.

Why lease a MINI Cooper Hatchback?

Because every version arrives well equipped and the kit list is consistent across the range, so your decision is really about powertrain, wheels and upholstery rather than chasing safety equipment up the trims.

Standard on every Cooper Hatchback: built-in navigation, a digital instrument cluster, self-steering parking, a rear-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, autonomous emergency braking, LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, DAB radio, power-folding mirrors, rain-sensing wipers and an electric parking brake.

Servicing falls every 24 months or 30,000 miles, there's an 8-year / 100,000-mile battery warranty on the electric versions, and a tyre repair kit rather than a spare wheel. Three optional packs - Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 - can be added to a trim at build.

Which Cooper Hatchback powertrain is right for me?

Two choices: petrol or electric. Both are automatic and front-wheel drive, so the real question is whether you can charge at home or at work.

Petrol

Petrol covers 120-228 bhp from 1.5- to 2.0-litre, three- or four-cylinder engines, with a 7-speed automatic. WLTP economy is 42.8-47.9 mpg and CO2 133-149 g/km. No manual is offered. Best if you do long, unpredictable journeys or can't charge.

Electric

Electric means a 40.7-54.2 kWh battery, 181-255 bhp and up to 247.3 miles of WLTP range on the best version. Rapid charging takes 10-80% in 30 minutes at up to 95 kW on the best version, or 0-100% in 4.5 hours on an 11 kW home supply on the best version. Ideal for commuting with a charger.

Which Cooper Hatchback trim should I choose?

Trims split into everyday versions and the performance run, and much of the difference is wheels, upholstery and comfort kit rather than safety equipment.

MINI Cooper Hatchback FAQs

For one child, yes. Versions carry 4 or 5 seats and the boot runs from 210 to 275 litres, so a buggy plus a weekly shop is a squeeze. The longest versions are up to 4.04 m long and much easier for fitting a child seat.

Between 210 and 275 litres with the rear seats up, depending on version, and 725 to 925 litres with them folded. Electric versions are quoted at 210 litres seats up. Check the individual deal for the exact figure.

WLTP range is 180 to 247 miles depending on battery, with the best version rated up to 247.3 miles and efficiency of 4.0-4.5 miles per kWh. Our electric car guide explains how to translate that into real-world driving.

Three years with unlimited mileage, plus a 3-year paintwork guarantee and 12-year anti-corrosion cover. Electric versions add an 8-year / 100,000-mile battery warranty. Servicing is due every 24 months or 30,000 miles.

It is firm, and road testers say so consistently. If your roads are rough, think carefully before choosing an 18-inch wheel trim, and try a version with adaptive suspension. Our guide to choosing your spec is worth a read before you order.

It depends entirely on what's available at the time - the cheapest version isn't always the entry trim, and it moves as pricing is refreshed. The live deals below are for the Hatchback only, and our team can check any trim that isn't showing.
