The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV is Mercedes-Benz's large five-seat electric SUV, offering 520 litres of boot space, up to 372 miles of WLTP range and a 5-star Euro NCAP rating. Choose between AMG Line, AMG Line Night Edition and the 617bhp AMG Night Edition.

The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV is a large, five-seat electric SUV that sits between the smaller electric Mercedes-Benz models and the flagship EQS. It's aimed at drivers who want a quiet, comfortable, well-equipped family car and can charge it regularly.

Every version is electric, with a 90-96 kWh battery, 315-617 bhp, an automatic drivetrain and a choice of rear- or all-wheel drive. Range runs up to 372 miles on the WLTP test on the best version.

The choice is simple: one body style, one powertrain family, two everyday trims in AMG Line and AMG Line Night Edition, plus the 617 bhp AMG Night Edition if you want the performance version.

About the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV

The current EQE SUV, on sale in this form since 2023, is the tall, practical interpretation of the EQE. Five seats, 520 litres of boot space with the rear seats up and 1,675 litres folded, and a body measuring about 4.86 m long.

Reviewers consistently praise its refinement: near-silent motors, very well suppressed wind and road noise, and a calm, effortless motorway manner. Space front and rear draws similar praise, and rear passengers sit more comfortably than they do in the lower saloon.

The criticisms are worth knowing too. Road testers note that body control over poor British surfaces can feel loose for a car with luxury ambitions, particularly on the largest wheels, and that the touchscreen-heavy cabin takes some learning. It carries a 5-star Euro NCAP rating and a 3-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty.

EQE SUV or EQE Saloon?

The SUV is the practical one. It gives you 520 litres of boot space against the saloon's 430 litres, a higher driving position at 1.67-1.71 m tall, and braked towing of up to 1,800 kg where the EQE Saloon tops out at 1,700 kg.

What you give up is length and sleekness. The saloon is longer at 4.95-4.96 m and around 17 cm lower, which makes it the more aerodynamic shape and the easier one to slide into. Both seat five. To see every version side by side, start from the full Mercedes-Benz EQE range.

Why lease a Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV?

Because the standard specification is unusually complete, which matters more on a lease than it does on a purchase: you're choosing from a fixed factory build, not adding kit later. Every EQE SUV has air suspension, an opening panoramic roof, heated front seats with electric memory, a powered tailgate and built-in navigation.

Driver assistance is comprehensive across the range too, with adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, automatic high beam, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera and self-steering parking. Euro NCAP awarded 5 stars, with 87% for adult occupant protection and 90% for child occupant protection.

Servicing falls every 12 months or 15,500 miles, and the battery carries a 10-year / 155,000-mile warranty guaranteeing 70% of capacity - longer than most lease terms, which is one less thing to think about. If you're new to electric, our electric car guide covers the basics.

Which EQE SUV powertrain is right for me?

There's one: the EQE SUV is electric only, so the real decisions are battery size, power and how many driven wheels you want.

Electric

A 90-96 kWh battery, 315-617 bhp and an automatic drivetrain, with rear- or all-wheel drive depending on version. WLTP range runs from 259 miles up to 372 miles, and the best version rapid-charges 10-80% in 31 minutes at 170 kW. It suits drivers with home or reliable workplace charging.

Which EQE SUV trim should I choose?

Two everyday trims cover most needs, and both are generously equipped from the start.

AMG Line

The entry version has 315 bhp and rear-wheel drive, on 21-inch AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels with leather upholstery. Static LED headlights, a panoramic sliding sunroof, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic parking assist, dual-zone climate control and adaptive suspension are all included. A retractable towbar is available as an option.

AMG Line Night Edition

An edition of AMG Line, sharing its 315 bhp rear-wheel-drive entry version, 21-inch AMG multi-spoke wheels and leather. It adds digital light LED headlights, a head-up display, MBUX augmented reality navigation, active ambient lighting, a 360-degree camera, a heated steering wheel, active lane-change assist and traffic sign recognition. Heated rear seats are optional.

Then there's the performance version.

AMG Night Edition

This is the 617 bhp, all-wheel-drive AMG, and the character changes with it - much harder acceleration and four-wheel steering to keep a heavy car manageable. It runs 20-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke alloys, digital light LED headlights with projection, AMG Nappa leather, ventilated front sports seats and a heated steering wheel.

Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV FAQs

Yes, for a family of up to five. It has five seats, 520 litres of boot space with the rear seats up and 1,675 litres folded, and Euro NCAP scored it 90% for child occupant protection. Reviewers consistently note generous rear legroom and headroom.

Official WLTP range is 259 to 372 miles depending on the version, battery and wheels, with efficiency quoted at 2.5 to 3.3 miles per kWh. Bigger wheels and more power reduce the figure, so check the range on the specific version you're ordering.

The best version rapid-charges from 10-80% in 31 minutes at 170 kW. On AC, the fastest version takes 5.4 hours from 10-100% at 15 kW, though a typical home wallbox is slower than that. Our guide to charging an electric car explains the difference.

Yes. Braked towing capacity runs from 750 kg to 1,800 kg depending on the version, with 750 kg unbraked and a 100 kg roof load. A retractable towbar is a factory option on all three trims, so it has to be specified before the car is built - it can't be added mid-lease.

Three years with unlimited mileage, which suits high-mileage lease drivers. The battery is covered separately for 10 years or 155,000 miles, guaranteeing at least 70% of its capacity. Paintwork is guaranteed for two years and anti-corrosion for six.

Easier than its size suggests. Every version gets front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera and self-steering parking, and the turning circle ranges from 11.0 m to 12.3 m. Four-wheel steering on the AMG Night Edition tightens it further. At 2.14 m wide including mirrors, though, narrow multi-storeys need care.

It depends entirely on what's available at the time. Monthly rentals move as stock, terms and mileage profiles change, so the cheapest version this week isn't always the cheapest next month. The live EQE SUV deals below this page show what we can arrange right now.
