View dealThe Maserati Grecale is a five-seat luxury SUV with a trident on the nose and a choice of petrol or fully electric power. It's the most everyday car Maserati makes, and the one most likely to work as a family car rather than a weekend treat.
It suits a driver who wants something less predictable than the usual German premium SUV, and who values a plush cabin and a strong turn of pace over badge familiarity. Reviewers consistently praise the interior materials and rear passenger space, while noting the infotainment takes some learning.
The choice is straightforward: one body style, two powertrains (Petrol or Electric), three everyday trims in the Grecale entry model, Modena and Folgore, plus the Trofeo performance version.

The Grecale is Maserati's mid-size SUV, sitting below the brand's larger and more exotic models and carrying the weather-themed naming tradition the marque has used for decades. This is the facelifted current Grecale, on sale in this form since 2026.
It's around 4.87m long with a 2.90m wheelbase, seats five, and carries 535 to 570 litres in the boot depending on version. Road testers generally rate it as spacious, fast and comfortable on a cruise, with opinion split on the ride when fitted with air suspension.
Every Grecale comes with a three-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty, which is unusually relevant on a lease because mileage caps on cover can otherwise catch out high-mileage drivers. A small number of previous-shape petrol versions may still be available while stocks last.
Leasing suits a car like this because you take a fixed monthly cost on an expensive, low-volume luxury SUV and hand it back at the end, rather than worrying about what it's worth in three or four years.
Standard kit is generous across the range. Every Grecale gets adaptive cruise control, built-in navigation, a digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an electrically adjustable driver's seat with memory, keyless entry and start, LED headlights, ambient lighting, rain-sensing wipers and an electric parking brake.
Safety and driver assistance is comprehensive too: autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, front and rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera are fitted to every version. Practical points matter as well - five seats, a powered tailgate on the entry model, and braked towing up to 2,500kg on the strongest petrol versions.
Two choices: petrol, or the fully electric Folgore. Both are automatic and all-wheel drive.
Petrol Grecales run from 296bhp to 523bhp through an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, with 0-62mph taking between 3.8 and 5.6 seconds depending on version. WLTP economy runs up to 32.1mpg. No charging to think about, and towing capacity of 2,300 to 2,500kg braked.
The electric Folgore uses a 105kWh battery for 550bhp, 820Nm and a WLTP range of up to 360 miles. It's automatic and all-wheel drive, with 0-62mph in 4.1 seconds. It needs charging, so it works best if you can plug in at home or work. Braked towing is 1,800kg. Our electric car guide covers the basics.

Three everyday trims, then one performance version - and the differences are mostly about comfort kit, cameras and wheels.
The entry model starts at 296bhp with all-wheel drive, 20-inch "Etere" alloy wheels and leather upholstery. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, front and rear parking sensors with rear active braking, keyless entry and keyless go on the front doors, a powered tailgate and dual-zone climate control are all standard. Ventilated and heated seats, a head-up display, matrix LED headlights and an opening panoramic roof are options.

Modena starts at 326bhp and adds full LED headlights, heated and ventilated front seats, a surround view camera system and adaptive cruise control with Stop and Go over the entry model. It also brings matrix LED headlights, heated rear seats, wireless phone charging, three-zone climate control, privacy glass and adaptive suspension, on the same 20-inch "Etere" wheels.
The Modena is currently available from £1,103.09 a month.
Folgore is the electric one, at 550bhp with all-wheel drive and 20-inch "Nembo" alloys. Compared with the entry model it adds heated and ventilated front seats, a surround view camera system, adaptive cruise control with Stop and Go and a wireless charger, plus heated rear seats, three-zone climate control, air suspension and front sports seats.
The Folgore is currently available from £1,255.18 a month.
Then there's the performance Grecale. Trofeo runs a 523bhp petrol engine with a hard-edged character road testers describe as the most entertaining engine in the range, riding on 21-inch "Crio" alloys. Over Modena it adds an electric panoramic sunroof, a heated leather steering wheel, a power tailgate, a head-up display, traffic sign recognition, air suspension and front sports seats.
The Trofeo is currently available from £1,566.16 a month. Against the Modena, that is currently £463.07/mo more expensive.
If you're weighing up alternatives, the Porsche Cayenne Electric and Mercedes-Benz EQE cover similar electric luxury ground, while the INEOS Grenadier takes a far more rugged approach. You can also browse the full Maserati range.
