View dealThe Lexus RZ is a five-seat electric SUV, 4.81 metres long, and it is the car Lexus points electric buyers towards when they want the brand's hush and finish rather than outright numbers. One body style, one battery, five trims.
It suits drivers who value a calm, well-isolated cabin and a car that feels expensive to sit in, and who can charge at home or at work. Power runs from 221 bhp to 402 bhp, with front- or all-wheel drive depending on the version, and WLTP range of up to 347 miles.
The choice, in short: every RZ is Electric and automatic, so you're really choosing between the everyday Premium and Premium + trims and the more powerful Takumi, F Sport and F Sport Takumi.

It carries the qualities Lexus has traded on for decades: quietness, tight build and a ride that smooths rather than sharpens.
Reviewers consistently praise the cabin materials, the seat comfort and how little road and wind noise gets in, while noting that the RZ is set up for calm progress rather than entertainment, and that rivals offer more range for the money.
Practically, it's a five-seater with a 3-year / 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty, a separate 8-year / 100,000-mile battery warranty guaranteeing 80% of capacity, and braked towing of up to 1,500 kg on the versions set up for it.
Because the RZ is generously equipped from the entry trim up, which matters more on a lease than it does on a purchase: you are living with the spec you order for two to four years, and you can't add to it later.
Every version gets adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, active lane-change assist, traffic sign recognition and autonomous emergency braking. Heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, an electrically adjustable driver's seat, keyless entry and start, wireless phone charging, built-in navigation with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control and a hands-free tailgate are standard too.
Insurance sits in group 40-45, which is worth checking with your insurer before you commit. If you're new to electric cars, our electric car guide covers the basics in plain English.
There's only one: every RZ is fully electric, with a 77 kWh battery and an automatic drivetrain. What changes across the range is power, drive and how far a charge takes you.
The 77 kWh battery (71 kWh usable) gives a WLTP range of 283-347 miles depending on version, with 221-402 bhp and front- or all-wheel drive. It needs plugging in - there's no petrol back-up - so it suits drivers with home or workplace charging. Efficiency runs 3.4-4.2 miles/kWh; 0-62 mph takes 4.4-7.5 seconds.

| Power | 221–402 bhp |

Premium and Premium + are the everyday choices; Takumi, F Sport and F Sport Takumi add power, all-wheel drive and cabin theatre.
Premium starts with 221 bhp and front-wheel drive on 18-inch alloys, with artificial leather upholstery, LED headlights with auto high beam and auto headlamp levelling, embedded hybrid navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree panoramic view monitor, a fixed panoramic glass roof and a powered tailgate. A detachable towbar is available as an option.

Premium + keeps the 221 bhp front-wheel-drive setup but adds 20-inch Aero F SPORT alloy wheels, ventilated front seats, a head-up display and electric seat memory. The detachable towbar remains an option. Bear in mind road testers generally find the 18-inch wheels the more comfortable choice.
As with Premium, availability for this trim moves around - our team can tell you what's on the board today.
Now the more powerful versions. Takumi steps up to 375 bhp and all-wheel drive, on 20-inch alloys, and adds LED headlights with AHS, a dimmable panoramic roof in blue shade, Ultra suede upholstery, 64-colour ambient lighting with dynamic illumination and heated rear seats.
The Takumi is currently available from £700.81 a month.
F Sport is the 402 bhp, all-wheel-drive version, on 20-inch alloys with leather and Ultra suede upholstery and a fixed panoramic roof in place of Takumi's dimmable one. It's the sharpest-driving RZ, and the one version not set up for towing - so cross it off if you need a towbar.
The F Sport is currently available from £762.65 a month. Against the Takumi, that is currently £61.84/mo more expensive.
F Sport Takumi is the same 402 bhp all-wheel-drive car as the F Sport, with the dimmable panoramic roof in blue shade swapped back in. That's the difference - it's about the cabin experience rather than added hardware.
The F Sport Takumi is currently available from £786.95 a month. Against the F Sport, that is currently £24.30/mo more expensive.
Beyond the trims there are optional packs: a 20" Wheels Pack, a BiTone Pack for two-tone paint, and a combined 20"/BiTone Pack. Fourteen colours are offered across the range, including Aether blue, Sonic copper and several black-roofed bi-tone finishes.
