Ford Focus Lease Deals

The Ford Focus is a five-seat family car offered as a hatchback or an estate, with a 1-litre turbo petrol engine in manual or automatic form. Three trims are available - ST-Line, Active X and ST-Line X - and every version carries a 5-star Euro NCAP rating.

The Ford Focus is a five-seat family car, sold as a five-door hatchback or a five-door estate, with a 1-litre turbo petrol engine driving the front wheels. It sits between Ford's smaller models and the larger SUVs as the traditional family hatchback in the line-up.

It suits drivers who want a car that's easy to place on a British B-road and still sensible on the school run. Reviewers have long rated the Focus as one of the better-handling cars in its class, and the current version keeps that reputation.

The choice is straightforward: pick a body (hatchback or estate), then a trim (ST-Line, Active X or ST-Line X). The engine is the same 1-litre turbo petrol throughout, with manual or automatic gearboxes depending on the version.

About the Ford Focus

The Focus is Ford's five-seat family hatchback and estate, and this fourth-generation car has been on sale in its current form since 2021. It's a familiar shape on UK roads and a name that has been part of the family-car class for decades.

Road testers consistently single out the steering and body control, describing the Focus as the driver's choice among mainstream family cars while still riding well enough for everyday use. The common criticism is the cabin, where most controls now live in the touchscreen and material quality trails one or two German rivals.

Every Focus is a five-seater with five doors, carries a 3-year or 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty, and holds a 5-star Euro NCAP rating with 96% for adult occupant protection. Service intervals are every 24 months or 18,000 miles.

Focus body styles

Two shapes are available, and they share the same engine, trims and cabin. The hatchback is the shorter, lighter car; the estate adds load space behind the rear seats for families and dog owners who need more room without moving to an SUV.

Hatchback

The five-door Focus hatchback is the lighter of the two, with a kerb weight of 1,503-1,532 kg depending on version. It's the easier car to park and the one most drivers picture when they think Focus.

Estate

The Focus estate keeps five seats and five doors but adds a longer load area behind them, with kerb weights of 1,561-1,599 kg. Worth a look if bulky pushchairs, bikes or a crate in the back are part of your week.

Why lease a Ford Focus?

Because the standard specification is strong across the range, so you're not chasing options to get a sensible family car. Every Focus, whatever the trim, comes with the core safety and convenience kit already fitted.

That means keyless entry and start, built-in navigation with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, front and rear parking sensors, LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, privacy glass, rain-sensing wipers, power-folding door mirrors, DAB digital radio and an electric parking brake.

On safety, autonomous emergency braking and lane-keep assist are standard, and Euro NCAP awarded the Focus five stars, with 87% for child occupant protection and 75% for safety assist. A space saver spare is fitted, and insurance groups run from 15 to 20.

Which Focus powertrain is right for me?

There's one engine family, so the real decision is manual or automatic. Nothing in the range plugs in or needs charging.

Petrol: 1-litre turbo

The 1.0-litre turbo petrol produces 123-153 bhp and 170-190 Nm, driving the front wheels through a 6 or 7-speed gearbox. Expect 0-62 mph in 8.4-10.4 seconds depending on version, a top speed of 123-129 mph, WLTP economy of 50.4-54.3 mpg and CO2 of 119-127 g/km.

In practice, the 123 bhp manual is fine for town and commuting, while the more powerful automatic makes more sense if you spend real time on motorways or in heavy traffic. Our guide to choosing petrol, diesel or electric is a useful sanity check if you're weighing up fuel types.

Which Focus trim should I choose?

Three trims are offered - ST-Line, Active X and ST-Line X - and all three start with the 123 bhp petrol engine and front-wheel drive. They differ mainly in wheels, cabin tech and suspension tune rather than in the safety kit, which is shared.

ST-Line

ST-Line rides on 17-inch "5 Spoke" alloy wheels with cloth upholstery and sports suspension, plus full fixed LED headlamps, keyless entry and start, and privacy glass. Adaptive cruise control, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a rear-view camera, blind-spot monitoring and an opening panoramic roof are available as options.

The ST-Line is currently available from £442.42 a month.

Active X

Active X steps up to 18-inch "5 Spoke" alloys and adds a wireless phone charging pad, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster over the ST-Line. Upholstery stays cloth, and matrix LED headlights and a head-up display join the options list.

The Active X is currently available from £459.89 a month. Against the ST-Line, that is currently £17.47/mo more expensive.

ST-Line X

ST-Line X takes the Active X kit and adds sports suspension, with 18-inch alloys in a "5x3 Spoke" design and cloth upholstery. The firmer set-up sharpens the handling but is noticeably less forgiving on poor surfaces, so try one before you commit.

The ST-Line X is currently available from £462.62 a month. Against the Active X, that is currently £2.74/mo more expensive.

Eight paint colours are offered across the range: Agate Black, Chrome blue, Desert island blue, Fantastic red, Frozen white, Magnetic, Moondust silver and Race red. If you're torn between trims, our guide to choosing your car walks through spec, mileage and term.

Ford Focus FAQs

Yes. It's a five-seat, five-door car with a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, including 87% for child occupant protection, and front and rear parking sensors on every version. Choose the estate if you regularly carry a pushchair, luggage or a dog.

Load space varies by body style and version, so check the specification on the individual deal. Both the hatchback and estate seat five with a space saver spare wheel fitted; check the individual deal for load space details.

No. The Focus is offered with a 1-litre turbo petrol engine only, so you simply fill it with fuel. Official WLTP economy is 50.4-54.3 mpg and CO2 emissions are 119-127 g/km, depending on the version you choose.

Ford covers the Focus with a 3-year or 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty, whichever comes first, plus a 3-year paintwork guarantee and a 12-year anti-corrosion guarantee. Servicing is due every 24 months or 18,000 miles, which suits most lease terms neatly.

Both are offered, with 6 or 7-speed gearboxes across the range. The manual suits drivers who enjoy the car's steering and want the simpler set-up; the automatic makes more sense for stop-start commuting. Performance spans 8.4-10.4 seconds to 62 mph.

It's firmer. ST-Line X combines 18-inch alloy wheels with sports suspension, which tightens up the handling but transmits more of a rough road. If your commute is full of potholes and speed humps, drive one before ordering.

That depends entirely on what's available at the time, and it moves as stock and pricing are refreshed. The ST-Line is currently from £442.42 a month. Compare the live options in our Ford Focus deals below.
