Smart Hashtag 3 Lease Deals

The Smart Hashtag 3 is an all-electric five-seat SUV with a sloping coupe roofline, 268 to 422 bhp and a WLTP range of up to 283 miles. This page explains the powertrain choice and what separates Pro, Pro +, Premium, 25th Anniversary Edition and Brabus.

The Smart Hashtag 3 is an all-electric five-seat SUV with a sloping, coupe-style roofline, sold in one body style with batteries from 49 kWh to 66 kWh and 268 to 422 bhp. It suits drivers who want a compact family car with plenty of standard kit and a design that stands apart from the usual crossover crowd.

It sits above the smaller Hashtag 1 in Smart's UK range, and it is electric only - there is no petrol, diesel or hybrid version. Every Hashtag 3 is automatic, with rear-wheel drive on most versions and all-wheel drive on the Brabus.

So the choice is simple: one body, one type of power, and five trims - Pro, Pro +, Premium, 25th Anniversary Edition and the performance Brabus.

About the Smart Hashtag 3

The Hashtag 3 is a 4.40 m, five-seat electric SUV with a fastback rear end, a 370-litre boot with the seats up and a 3-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty. It has been on sale in this form since 2024.

Reviewers consistently praise the cabin quality, the generous standard equipment and the fact that it drives with a bit more life than most cars of this shape - the single-motor versions are rear-wheel drive, which testers tend to enjoy. The most common criticism is the touchscreen, which buries too many everyday controls in menus.

Range is the other thing road testers flag. Entry versions cover 202 miles on the WLTP test; the longest-legged versions manage up to 283 miles, and real-world figures land below both, as they do with every electric car.

Why lease a Smart Hashtag 3?

Because the standard specification is unusually complete, which matters more on a lease than a long options list you'll hand back in three or four years. Every Hashtag 3 has a fixed panoramic glass roof, heated front seats, a powered tailgate and keyless entry and start.

Safety and driver-assistance kit is standard across the range too: adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition and autonomous emergency braking. Euro NCAP awarded the Hashtag 3 five stars, with 90% for adult occupant protection and 86% for child occupant protection.

Practicality is decent rather than vast - 370 litres behind the rear seats, 1,160 litres with them folded, and braked towing of up to 1,600 kg. New to electric? Our electric car guide covers the charging questions customers ask us most before ordering.

Which Hashtag 3 powertrain is right for me?

There's only one: the Hashtag 3 is fully electric, so the real decision is how much battery you need and whether you want the extra motor.

Electric

Batteries run from 49 kWh to 66 kWh, power from 268 bhp to 422 bhp, and WLTP range from 202 miles up to 283 miles. It's automatic, rear-wheel drive on most versions and all-wheel drive on the Brabus, and you'll want somewhere to plug in - ideally at home. Charging at home is where an EV lease makes most sense.

Charging is quick by class standards: 10-80% in 30 minutes at 150 kW on the best version, and 10-80% in three hours on a 22 kW AC supply. Efficiency sits between 2.2 and 2.4 miles per kWh.

Which Hashtag 3 trim should I choose?

Four everyday trims, then one performance version - and the differences are as much about battery and cabin trim as they are about badges.

Pro

The entry version, with 268 bhp and rear-wheel drive. It runs 19-inch Flux alloy wheels, CyberSparks LED headlights, the Halo panoramic sunroof, cloth upholstery with a man-made leather wrapped instrument panel, air conditioning, a rear-view camera and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Deals on the Pro come and go, so ask our team what's available if this is the one you want.

Pro +

Pro + keeps the 268 bhp rear-wheel-drive setup, the 19-inch Flux wheels and the cloth interior. It's an alternative look on the Pro rather than a step up in equipment, so pick it if the styling appeals.

Availability moves around on this one too - drop us a line and we'll check.

Premium

This is the big equipment jump. Premium swaps to 19-inch Torque alloys and Duo leather upholstery, and adds a 10-inch head-up display, 12 front and rear parking sensors, side and rear window privacy glass, matrix LED headlights, a hands-free tailgate, automatic parking assist, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and a heat pump.

The Premium is currently available from £373.68 a month.

25th Anniversary Edition

An edition of the Premium, marking Smart's anniversary. It brings the Galaxy panoramic sunroof, a perforated leather steering wheel and 19-inch Magneto alloy wheels, with the same 268 bhp rear-wheel-drive running gear and leather upholstery underneath.

The 25th Anniversary Edition is currently available from £605.20 a month. Against the Premium, that is currently £231.52/mo more expensive.

Brabus

Then there's the performance one. Brabus adds all-wheel drive for 422 bhp, with 0-62 mph in 3.7 seconds, 20-inch Synchro alloys, Microfiber suede upholstery and ventilated front seats. Road testers find it seriously quick, if not the last word in finesse.

The Brabus is currently available from £464.03 a month. Against the 25th Anniversary Edition, that is currently £141.17/mo cheaper. Best value

Smart Hashtag 3 FAQs

For a family of four, yes. It seats five, has a 370-litre boot, and scored five stars at Euro NCAP with 86% for child occupant protection. The sloping roofline does cost some rear headroom compared with a boxier SUV, so sit in the back before you commit.

Between 202 and 283 miles on the WLTP test, depending on the version and its battery size. Expect less in cold weather and at motorway speeds. Check the range quoted on the individual deal before you order.

On the best version, 10-80% takes 30 minutes at a 150 kW rapid charger. Peak rapid charging across the range is 130 kW to 150 kW. On AC, a 22 kW supply does 10-80% in about three hours, though most home wallboxes are slower than that.

Yes, up to 1,600 kg braked. That's enough for a small caravan or a twin-axle trailer, but towing will cut your range noticeably. Let us know before the car goes on order if you'd like a towbar fitted.

Three years with unlimited mileage, which is useful on a high-mileage lease. The battery has its own cover: eight years or 125,000 miles, guaranteeing 70% of capacity. There's no spare wheel - a tyre repair kit is supplied instead.

It depends entirely on what's available at the time, and it changes as pricing is refreshed. The version with the lowest list price isn't always the cheapest monthly rental. The live deals below show where the Hashtag 3 stands today across every trim we can source.
