BMW 2 Series Coupe Lease Deals

The BMW 2 Series Coupe is BMW's smallest two-door coupe: four seats, a 390-litre boot, petrol power from 181 to 387 bhp and an eight-speed automatic throughout. This page explains the trims, the powertrain choice and how the Coupe compares with the Hatchback and Saloon body styles.

The BMW 2 Series Coupe is a two-door, four-seat petrol coupe with a long bonnet, a driver-focused cabin and rear-wheel drive on the entry version. It's the compact, traditional-feeling BMW for people who want a proper coupe shape rather than a hatchback or a small SUV.

It sits at the sporting end of BMW's smaller cars, below the bigger coupes in the range, and it's a car built around the front two seats. Four seats, two doors, a 390-litre boot and no hybrid or electric option: petrol only, automatic only.

The choice here is simple. One body style, one fuel type spanning 181 to 387 bhp, two everyday trims in M Sport and M Sport Pro, and the M240i above them.

About the BMW 2 Series Coupe

This is the current, second-generation 2 Series Coupe, on sale in this form since 2024. It's a rear-drive-based two-door in an era when most rivals have disappeared, and reviewers consistently treat that as its main appeal.

Road testers praise the balance, the accurate steering and the refinement on longer journeys, and they reserve particular warmth for the six-cylinder engine. The common criticisms are a firm ride on poor surfaces and rear seats that suit children or short trips rather than adults.

Practically, you get four seats, a 390-litre boot with the rear seats up, and a three-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty. Euro NCAP awarded the car four stars, with 82% for adult occupant protection.

2 Series Coupe or 2 Series Hatchback or 2 Series Saloon?

Choose the Coupe for the shape and the driving position; choose the others for doors and space. The Coupe is 4.54-4.55 m long and just 1.39-1.40 m tall, with four seats, two doors and a 390-litre boot, and it tows 1,600 kg braked - more than either alternative.

The 2 Series Hatchback is the family answer: five doors, five seats, a boot of 406-415 litres seats up and up to 1,370-1,405 litres folded, though it stands 1.57-1.58 m tall. The 2 Series Saloon splits the difference with four doors, five seats, a 1.45 m roofline and a boot of 360-430 litres depending on version. All three sit together on the 2 Series range page.

Why lease a BMW 2 Series Coupe?

Because the standard specification is generous and the running costs of a lease are fixed and known from the start. Every 2 Series Coupe has heated front seats, keyless entry and start, built-in navigation, a digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control and a wi-fi hotspot.

Driver assistance is well covered too: autonomous emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, automatic parking assist, LED headlights, automatic headlights and rain-sensing wipers. Sports suspension and paddle shifters are fitted across the range.

One contract point worth raising with our team before you order: the car carries a tyre repair kit rather than a spare, and the 19-inch wheels on the upper trims are easy to kerb. Alloy wheel damage is the single most common end-of-contract charge we're asked about, so it's worth reading the end-of-contract guide before you sign.

Which 2 Series Coupe powertrain is right for me?

There's one fuel to choose from, so the real decision is how much power you want.

Petrol

Petrol covers the whole range, from 181 bhp up to 387 bhp, with torque of 300-540 Nm and 0-62 mph in 4.3-7.5 seconds. Every version uses an eight-speed automatic gearbox; rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive is available. WLTP economy is 38.7-44.1 mpg, with CO2 of 146-167 g/km.

No charging, no plugging in, no range anxiety. If you're weighing petrol against other fuels for your next lease, our petrol, diesel or electric guide sets out the trade-offs.

Which 2 Series Coupe trim should I choose?

Two everyday trims, then one performance version - and the equipment gap between them is narrower than you might expect.

M Sport

The entry version has 181 bhp and rear-wheel drive, 18-inch M Double Spoke Style 848 M alloy wheels and cloth upholstery. It brings smartphone integration, an M sport leather steering wheel, heated front seats, front and rear parking sensors, and dynamic ambient lighting for welcome, goodbye, open doors and phone calls.

M Sport Pro

M Sport Pro adds automatic high beam and privacy glass, and moves up to 19-inch M Double Spoke Style 995 M alloy wheels with cloth upholstery. It also starts at 181 bhp with rear-wheel drive. Adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, an opening panoramic roof, a heated steering wheel and wireless phone charging are among the factory options.

M240i

Then there's the performance one. The M240i has 387 bhp, all-wheel drive, launch control and 19-inch M Double Spoke Style 792 M alloy wheels, plus a three-spoke flat-bottomed M leather steering wheel with a red centre mark. It's the version reviewers single out for its straight-six engine and effortless pace.

BMW 2 Series Coupe FAQs

For two adults and two children, yes. It has four seats, two doors and a 390-litre boot. Reviewers note the rear seats suit children or shorter journeys rather than tall adults, and access is through the front doors only.

The boot holds 390 litres with the rear seats up, on every version. That's competitive for a two-door coupe and enough for a weekend away or a large weekly shop. Roof load is 75 kg if you need to carry more.

It can tow up to 1,600 kg braked and 750 kg unbraked. A towbar has to be specified when the car is factory-ordered, so tell us before the order goes in - it can't be added to a lease vehicle afterwards without permission.

Three years with unlimited mileage from BMW. On a typical two, three or four-year lease that covers most or all of your contract, whatever annual mileage you choose, which is one reason high-mileage drivers like the car.

Euro NCAP gave it four stars: 82% adult occupant, 81% child occupant, 67% vulnerable road users and 64% safety assist. Autonomous emergency braking, a rear-view camera and front and rear parking sensors are standard; adaptive cruise control is a factory option.

It depends entirely on what's available at the time. Rentals move with term, mileage, initial rental and current offers, and the order isn't always what you'd expect from list prices. The live deals below are for the Coupe only.

Only if you want the M240i, which is all-wheel drive with 387 bhp. M Sport and M Sport Pro start at 181 bhp with rear-wheel drive, and reviewers often prefer the lighter four-cylinder cars for steering feel. More on matching spec to use in our choosing your car guide.
