Audi Q5 Lease Deals | Personal & Business Leasing | FVL

The current third-generation Audi Q5 is a five-seat premium family SUV offered in SUV and Sportback body styles, with petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid power, all automatic and all-wheel drive. This page explains the body styles, powertrains and trims so you can pick the right version before you look at the live deals.

The Audi Q5 is a five-seat premium family SUV, and it sits in the middle of Audi's SUV line-up: bigger and more expensive than the compact Q3, smaller than the seven-seat models above it. At 4.72 metres long it's a sensible size for UK roads and car parks.

This is the third-generation Q5, on sale in this form since 2025. Every version is automatic with all-wheel drive, and the boot runs from 433 to 520 litres depending on which body and powertrain you pick.

The choice breaks down into three decisions: SUV or Sportback, petrol, diesel or plug-in hybrid, and then a trim from Sport up to Vorsprung, with the 362 bhp SQ5 versions above them. You can see the rest of Audi's range on our Audi leasing pages.

About the Audi Q5

The Q5 is Audi's mainstream family SUV: five seats, five doors, a 2.83 m wheelbase and a boot of 433 to 520 litres with the rear seats up, depending on version. It comes with a 3-year / 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty.

Reviewers consistently praise how settled and quiet it is on a motorway, and how comfortable the driving position is, particularly on versions fitted with the optional air suspension. The criticism is just as consistent: the cabin is now screen-led, and several testers feel the materials lower down don't match the older Q5.

It scores five stars from Euro NCAP, with 85% for adult occupant protection and 86% for child occupant protection. Nobody calls it the sharpest thing in the class to drive, and Audi hasn't tried to make it that.

Q5 body styles

Two shapes are on sale, and they're mechanically the same car: an upright SUV and a lower-roofed Sportback. Both are 4.72 m long with five doors and five seats, and the practical gap between them is smaller than the styling suggests.

Q5 Sportback

The Sportback has a sloping roofline and a slightly smaller boot, at 433 to 515 litres seats up and 1,300 to 1,415 litres folded. The Sportback trades its sloping roofline for a slightly smaller boot than the SUV.

Q5 SUV

The SUV is the squarer, taller body, with 438 to 520 litres seats up and up to 1,473 litres folded. If you regularly load bulky items or fit a dog guard, this is the one to have.

Why lease an Audi Q5?

Because the standard kit list is generous and the running costs are predictable over a fixed term. Every Q5 gets adaptive cruise control, heated front seats, wireless phone charging, built-in navigation, a digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and three-zone climate control.

Driver assistance is thorough across the range: automatic parking assist, rear cross-traffic alert, active lane-change assist, traffic sign recognition and automatic high beam are all standard, which is part of why it earns its five-star Euro NCAP rating.

On practicality, it'll tow up to 2,400 kg braked on the petrol and diesel versions, and the turning circle is 11.8 to 12.0 m depending on version. Worth knowing before you order: there's no spare wheel, just a tyre repair kit, and the big alloys look great but kerbing them is a common end-of-contract charge. Our guide to choosing your spec, mileage and term is a useful read first.

Which Q5 powertrain is right for me?

Three choices: petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid. All are automatic with a 7-speed gearbox and all-wheel drive, so the real question is your mileage, whether you can charge at home, and whether company car tax is part of the sum.

Petrol

The petrol spans 201 to 362 bhp, from a 2.0-litre four-cylinder up to the 3.0-litre six in the SQ5. Nothing to plug in, WLTP economy of 34.0 to 40.4 mpg, and 0-62 mph in 4.5 to 7.2 seconds depending on version. Best suited to lower annual mileages.

Diesel

A 2-litre, 201 bhp diesel with 400 Nm of torque, 0-62 mph in 7.4 seconds and WLTP economy of 44.1 to 47.9 mpg. It's the long-distance choice, and it keeps the full 2,400 kg braked towing capacity. Mostly short urban trips? See our diesel particulate filter guide first.

Plug-in hybrid

A 2-litre turbo petrol with a 25.9 kWh battery (20.7 kWh usable) and 295 bhp combined, good for 0-62 mph in 6.2 seconds. It charges at up to 11 kW, taking about 2.5 hours from empty to full on the best version. It works properly only if you can charge regularly; braked towing is 2,000 kg.

Which Q5 trim should I choose?

Five everyday trims, then the SQ5 versions. Sport already covers the essentials, S Line and Black Edition add wheels and cabin trim, and Vorsprung is where the cameras, sunroof and passenger screen become standard. Tech Pack, Sound+Vision Pack and S+V Pack are optional add-ons rather than trims.

Similar cars to consider

If the Q5 is more car than you need, the Audi Q3 sits a size below it, with a similar cabin layout and the same quattro option on many versions, in a shorter, easier-to-park body.

Audi Q5 FAQs

Yes, for families of four or five. It has five seats, five doors and a Euro NCAP five-star rating with 86% for child occupant protection, plus three-zone climate control and rear cross-traffic alert as standard. Boot space is the one thing to check in the Sportback.

It depends on the body and the powertrain. The SUV holds 438 to 520 litres with the rear seats up and up to 1,473 litres folded; the Sportback holds 433 to 515 litres, up to 1,415 litres folded. Plug-in hybrids sit at the smaller end.

It will drive without charging, but you'd be wasting it. The 25.9 kWh battery charges at up to 11 kW, around 2.5 hours from empty to full on the best version. Our electric and hybrid guides cover home charging.

Yes. Braked towing is 2,000 to 2,400 kg depending on version, with 2,400 kg on petrol and diesel and 2,000 kg on the plug-in hybrid. Unbraked is 750 kg. A retractable towbar is a factory option on most trims, so specify it before the order is placed.

Audi covers the Q5 with a 3-year / 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty. The plug-in hybrid's battery has a separate 8-year / 100,000-mile warranty guaranteeing 70% of capacity, which comfortably outlasts a typical lease term.

It depends on what's available at the time. The entry trim isn't always the cheapest monthly rental, because pricing moves by body style, powertrain and term. The honest answer is to check the live Q5 deals below, or ask our team to run the combinations you're weighing up.

On most like-for-like trims at the moment, yes, the plug-in hybrid often carries the lower monthly rental. A rental reflects the gap between the car's cost and its forecast value at the end of the term, plus interest, so a version that holds value better can cost less per month despite a higher list price. That can change whenever pricing is refreshed.
