View dealThe Audi Q5 Sportback is the sloping-roof version of Audi's mid-size premium SUV: five seats, five doors, 4.72 metres long, and a boot of 433 to 515 litres depending on which version you choose. It sits above the smaller Q3 in Audi's SUV line-up, alongside the squarer-roofed Q5 SUV.
It suits drivers who want a premium family car that looks like something more interesting than a box on wheels, and who can live with a slightly shallower tailgate opening in exchange for the shape. Families of four or five with a dog and a roof-height habit should think twice.
The choice here is simple enough: one body, three powertrains (petrol, diesel or plug-in hybrid), five everyday trims and three SQ5 performance versions. Everything below is the Sportback only, and so are the deals underneath.

This is the third-generation Q5, on sale in this form since 2025, offered here as the Sportback body. Five seats, a 3-year / 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty and a 5-star Euro NCAP rating are common to the range.
Reviewers consistently praise the cabin: a 14.5" OLED touchscreen dominates the dashboard, build quality is close to faultless, and road testers describe the driving manner as composed and quiet rather than playful. The criticism is equally consistent, and it's about screens. There are a lot of them.
Practically, the sloping roof costs a little space against the SUV shape but not as much as the styling suggests, with 433 to 515 litres behind the rear seats and up to 1,415 litres folded. Braked towing runs up to 2,400 kg on petrol and diesel versions.
The Sportback trades a small amount of luggage space for a lower, tapered roofline. Both bodies are 4.72 m long on a 2.83 m wheelbase with five seats, so the difference is shape, not footprint.
On paper the Audi Q5 SUV holds 438 to 520 litres with the seats up and up to 1,473 litres folded, against 433 to 515 and up to 1,415 litres here. Both tow up to 2,400 kg braked and 750 kg unbraked. If you want to see both bodies side by side, the full Audi Q5 range is worth a look.
Because the standard specification is unusually complete for a premium SUV, which matters on a lease where you're choosing a fixed car for three or four years. Every version and trim gets adaptive cruise control, heated front seats, wireless phone charging, built-in navigation and a digital instrument cluster.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard throughout, as are three-zone climate control, ambient lighting, power-folding mirrors and paddle shifters. On the safety side you get automatic parking assist, rear cross-traffic alert, active lane-change assist, traffic sign recognition and automatic high beam, backed by that 5-star Euro NCAP result (85% adult occupant, 86% child occupant).
Worth knowing before you order: the spare is a tyre repair kit, and a retractable towbar is a factory option on every trim, so if you tow, specify it at order stage rather than after delivery.
Three choices, all automatic and all all-wheel drive: petrol, diesel or plug-in hybrid.
Power runs from 201 bhp to 362 bhp through a 7-speed automatic, with 0-62 mph between 7.2 and 4.5 seconds depending on version. WLTP economy is 34.0 to 40.4 mpg and CO2 159 to 188 g/km, so it suits lower-mileage drivers who value refinement over fuel bills.
The 2-litre, 201 bhp diesel is the long-distance option: 400 Nm of torque, 44.8 to 47.9 mpg WLTP, 0-62 mph in 7.4 seconds and towing up to 2,400 kg braked. If you do motorway miles or pull a caravan, this is the one that makes sense. Our petrol, diesel or electric guide goes into the trade-offs.
A 2-litre turbo paired with a 25.9 kWh battery (20.7 kWh usable) for 295 bhp and 0-62 mph in 6.2 seconds. It charges at up to 11 kW, giving 0-100% in about 2.5 hours on the best version, and you need to plug it in regularly to get the benefit. Boot is 433 litres, towing 2,000 kg braked.

If the Q5 Sportback is more car than you need, the smaller Audi Q3 covers similar ground a size down. You can also browse the wider Audi lease range to see how the SUVs line up against each other.
