Vauxhall Grandland Lease Deals

The Vauxhall Grandland is a five-seat family SUV offered with 1.2-litre turbo petrol, plug-in hybrid and 73 kWh electric power, in Griffin, Design and GS forms. This page explains what the car is good at, and how to pick the version that suits your driving.

The Vauxhall Grandland is Vauxhall's large family SUV: five seats, five doors, 4.65 metres long, and a boot of 485 to 550 litres depending on the version you pick. It's the sensible end of the family SUV market rather than the flashy end, and it's unapologetic about that.

This is the second-generation Grandland, on sale in this form since 2024, and it sits at the top of Vauxhall's SUV line-up. One body style, three very different powertrains, and a short trim list - which makes choosing far less painful than it is on some rivals.

The choice comes down to three things: petrol, plug-in hybrid or electric; then Griffin or Design for everyday driving; then the 321 bhp GS if you want the quickest electric version.

About the Vauxhall Grandland

The Grandland is a comfort-first family SUV built around space, a calm motorway manner and a straightforward cabin. Reviewers consistently praise the interior quality, the supportive seats and the sheer usefulness of the boot, which runs from 485 litres up to 550 litres with the rear seats up, and 1,645 litres folded.

What they tend to criticise is the ride over sharp potholes and town-speed bumps, and the fact that it isn't much fun on a twisty road. Road testers also note that the larger wheels firm things up further.

Vauxhall covers it with a 3-year / 60,000-mile warranty, and electric versions add an 8-year / 100,000-mile battery warranty guaranteeing 70% of capacity. Euro NCAP awarded it 4 stars, with 80% for adult occupant protection and 85% for child occupant protection.

Why lease a Vauxhall Grandland?

Because the standard equipment list is generous and the running-cost decision is yours to make. Every Grandland, whatever the powertrain or trim, gets keyless entry and start, a digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control and LED headlights.

The safety and driver-assistance kit is standard across the range too: autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition, front and rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera. Useful, given Euro NCAP marked the assistance systems at 62%.

On the practical side, it tows up to 1,500 kg braked in plug-in hybrid form, and a detachable towbar is a factory option on every trim. Servicing falls every 12-24 months or 16,000 miles, and a tyre repair kit takes the place of a spare wheel.

Which Grandland powertrain is right for me?

Pick on how you charge, not on headline power: petrol if you can't plug in, plug-in hybrid if you can charge at home and do short daily runs, electric if you want the lowest running costs and the longest legs between fills.

Petrol

The 1.2-litre turbo gives 143 bhp through an automatic gearbox and the front wheels, with 50.4 mpg on the official WLTP test and 0-62 mph in 10.2 seconds. No charging, no plugs, 550 litres of boot and 1,100 kg of braked towing. It suits high-mileage drivers without a driveway.

Plug-in hybrid

A 1.6-litre turbo paired with a 21 kWh battery, for 225 bhp, an automatic gearbox and front-wheel drive. It charges at up to 7 kW, and the best version fills from 0-100% in 2.9 hours at 7.4 kW. It only makes financial sense if you plug it in regularly - and it tows up to 1,500 kg braked.

Electric

The 73 kWh battery gives 210 to 321 bhp, front- or all-wheel drive, and a WLTP electric range of up to 423 miles on the best version. Rapid charging runs 20-80% in 30 minutes at 160 kW at best. Our electric car guide covers the charging basics if you're switching.

Which Grandland trim should I choose?

Griffin and Design cover everyday family duties, and the GS is the quick electric one. All three use cloth upholstery, so the differences are wheels, screens and driver-assistance kit.

Griffin

The Griffin starts with 19-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, adaptive cruise control, front and rear ventilated discs, a rear-view camera, paddle shifters and an auto-dimming mirror. A detachable towbar is an option. The Griffin is currently available from £403.99 a month.

Design

Design runs 19-inch alloy wheels and a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel with audio, phone and cruise control switches, plus the option of a detachable towbar. Deals for this one come and go, so ask our team what's bookable at the time.

GS

Then there's the performance version. The electric GS produces 321 bhp with all-wheel drive, and adds 20-inch two-tone aero alloy wheels, a 16-inch multimedia navigation screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a dimpled leather-effect steering wheel, wireless phone charging, a power tailgate, a heat pump, rear cross-traffic alert, active lane-change assist and ambient lighting over the Griffin. The GS is currently available from £322.64 a month.

Vauxhall Grandland FAQs

Yes, for a family of up to five. It's 4.65 m long with a 2.78-2.80 m wheelbase, and reviewers consistently rate the front seats and rear legroom highly. Three adults across the back bench is a squeeze, which is normal in this class.

It will drive without being plugged in, but you'd be wasting it. The 21 kWh battery (17.9 kWh usable) charges at up to 7 kW, and the best version takes 2.9 hours for 0-100% at 7.4 kW. Without regular charging, economy drops away.

Between 485 and 550 litres with the rear seats up, depending on the version, and 1,645 litres with them folded. Petrol and plug-in hybrid versions both offer 550 litres; electric versions vary. There's no spare wheel - you get a tyre repair kit.

It tows between 1,100 kg and 1,500 kg braked depending on powertrain, and 650 kg unbraked. The plug-in hybrid is the strongest at 1,500 kg; the petrol is rated at 1,100 kg and electric versions at 1,200-1,350 kg. A detachable towbar is a factory option on every trim.

Three years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first, plus a six-year paintwork guarantee and 12-year anti-corrosion guarantee. Electric versions add an 8-year / 100,000-mile battery warranty guaranteeing 70% of capacity. Check the term and annual mileage you choose sit inside that cover.

It depends entirely on what's available at the time - rentals move as stock and pricing are refreshed, and the cheapest version isn't always the entry trim. The Griffin is currently from £403.99 a month. See the live Grandland deals for today's position, and our guide to choosing mileage, term and spec if you're weighing up the options.
