Toyota Corolla Lease Deals

The Toyota Corolla is a five-seat family hatchback or estate, sold only as a self-charging hybrid automatic. This page explains the body styles, the hybrid powertrain and the Icon, Design, GR Sport and Excel trims so you can pick the right version before you look at the live deals.

The Toyota Corolla is a five-seat family car built around one idea: a self-charging hybrid that never needs plugging in, wrapped in a body that fits British roads and British parking spaces. It's Toyota's traditional family hatchback, sitting below the brand's SUVs and above the smaller Yaris.

Two body styles are on sale, a hatchback and a longer estate, and both use the same Hybrid (self-charging) petrol-electric system driving the front wheels through an automatic gearbox. Four trims run from Icon through Design and GR Sport to Excel.

If you want low fuel bills without a charging cable, home charger or route planning, this is the sort of car the whole idea was invented for. Reviewers consistently describe it as quiet, comfortable and remarkably frugal in real-world driving.

About the Toyota Corolla

The Corolla is Toyota's long-running family car, and the current version - the 11th-generation model, on sale in this form since 2022 - is offered only as a hybrid. Five seats, around 4.37 m long in hatchback form, and a boot of 313 to 596 litres depending on which body and version you choose.

Road testers usually praise the same things: genuine fuel economy, a settled ride, solid build and Toyota's reputation for dependability. The common criticisms are just as consistent - rear passenger space in the hatchback is tight for the class, and the automatic gearbox gets vocal if you accelerate hard up a motorway incline.

Every Corolla comes with a three-year or 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty, with servicing due every 12 months or 10,000 miles.

Corolla body styles

There are two shapes. The hatchback is the compact one at about 4.37 m long; the estate stretches the body and the wheelbase for a much bigger boot.

Hatchback

The Corolla hatchback gives up outright luggage room for a shorter, easier-to-park body. Boot space runs from 313 litres with the seats up, rising to as much as 1,052 litres folded on some versions.

Estate

The Corolla estate is around 4.65 m long with a 2.70 m wheelbase, and carries 581 to 596 litres behind the rear seats - up to 1,606 litres folded. Same width, same height, same turning circle.

Why lease a Toyota Corolla?

Because it's one of the easiest family cars to live with on a fixed monthly budget: no plug, no charging routine, strong official economy of 57.6 to 62.8 mpg, and CO2 from 100 g/km, which matters if you're taking one as a company car.

Standard kit across every version and trim is generous. Adaptive cruise control, heated front seats, keyless entry and start, wireless phone charging, built-in navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, rain-sensing wipers and an electric parking brake all come as part of the deal.

Safety and driver assistance are standard too: lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition, LED headlights, a rear-view camera and front and rear parking sensors. Every Corolla is rated to tow up to 750 kg braked, and carries a tyre repair kit rather than a spare wheel.

Which Corolla powertrain is right for me?

There's only one, and it suits most drivers, which keeps the choice simple.

Hybrid (self-charging)

A 1.8 or 2.0-litre petrol engine works with an electric motor and a small 1.8 kWh battery that charges itself as you drive and brake. Power runs from 138 to 193 bhp, 0-62 mph takes 7.4 to 9.4 seconds, and it's automatic and front-wheel drive. No cable, ever.

It's at its best around town and on mixed roads, where the electric motor does more of the work. If you cover big motorway miles at speed, the fuel saving narrows - worth reading our electric and hybrid leasing guides before you decide.

Which Corolla trim should I choose?

Four trims, and because so much kit is standard on every Corolla, the differences are mostly wheels, trim materials and a few convenience features.

Icon

Icon sits on 16" 5 double spoke silver metallic alloy wheels with cloth upholstery, low LED headlights, Toyota smart connect navigation, Apple CarPlay with wired Android Auto, and a three-spoke synthetic leather steering wheel. It also gets a heated steering wheel, digital instrument cluster and air conditioning. The Icon is currently available from £317.36 a month.

Design

Design swaps to 17" 5 spoke silver alloy wheels and adds a front sliding synthetic leather armrest, rear privacy glass, ambient lighting, power-folding door mirrors and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror. A sensible middle ground if you want the extra comfort touches. The Design is currently available from £327.96 a month. Against the Icon, that is currently £10.60/mo more expensive.

GR Sport

GR Sport is about looks rather than extra speed - it uses the same hybrid system. You get 18" 10 spoke black machined face alloy wheels, fabric and synthetic leather upholstery, front sports seats, a reversing camera, front and rear parking sensors, and privacy glass with a UV filter. The GR Sport is currently available from £331.72 a month. Against the Design, that is currently £3.76/mo more expensive.

Excel

Excel runs 18" 5 double spoke dark grey machined face alloys, leather upholstery, a JBL premium sound system with eight speakers, a driver monitoring camera, head-up display, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. Options include the Bi-tone Pack, which brings intelligent parking assist and a power tailgate with kick sensor. The Excel is currently available from £350.68 a month. Against the GR Sport, that is currently £18.96/mo more expensive.

Toyota Corolla FAQs

No. The Hybrid (self-charging) system tops up its own 1.8 kWh battery using the petrol engine and energy recovered when you brake or slow down. You fill it with petrol and nothing else. There's no plug, no cable and no home charger needed.

It's a five-seat family car with standard safety kit including lane-keep assist. Reviewers do note that rear passenger space in the hatchback is tighter than some rivals, so if you regularly carry teenagers or rear-facing child seats, try the estate, which has the longer wheelbase.

It depends on the body and version. The hatchback holds 313 to 361 litres with the rear seats up and 1,004 to 1,052 litres folded. The estate holds 581 to 596 litres seats up, rising to 1,591 to 1,606 litres with the rear seats down.

Only a light one. Every Corolla is rated to tow up to 750 kg braked and 450 kg unbraked, which covers a small trailer or a box trailer but rules out most touring caravans. Check the towing limit on the individual deal before you order.

Three years or 60,000 miles from Toyota, with servicing due every 12 months or 10,000 miles. On a typical lease term that covers you for most or all of the contract, though your annual mileage matters - our guide to choosing mileage and term is worth a read first.

On the Hybrid, the estate often costs about the same per month as the hatchback on a like-for-like spec. A monthly rental reflects the gap between the car's cost and its forecast value at the end of the term, plus interest, so a version that holds its value better can cost less per month despite a higher list price. That can shift whenever pricing is refreshed, so compare both in the current deals.

It depends entirely on what's available at the time - body style, trim, term and mileage all move the figure, and offers change constantly. The entry Icon trim is currently from £317.36 a month. Check the live Corolla deals below, or browse the wider Toyota leasing range.
