The Porsche 911 is the two-door sports car that most people picture when they hear the phrase. It seats two or four, carries between 163 and 373 litres of luggage depending on the version, and measures about 4.54 m long - small enough to use every day, quick enough to embarrass far more exotic machinery.

It sits at the heart of Porsche's range: below the flagship models in outright drama, above everything else in reputation. You can read the wider line-up on our Porsche leasing pages.

The choice here is simple enough to hold in your head. Coupe or Convertible, petrol or self-charging hybrid, and five trims: the 911 entry model, T, S and GTS, plus the GT3 for drivers who want the sharpest version.

About the Porsche 911

The 911 is the rare sports car that works as a daily driver. It's the seventh-generation car, on sale in this form since 2026, and it keeps the rear-engined layout and round-headlight silhouette that have defined the model for decades.

Reviewers consistently praise the steering, the body control and the fact that it flatters an average driver without boring an expert one. The same testers note how usable it is: quiet enough on a motorway, comfortable over broken surfaces, and practical by sports-car standards thanks to a boot of up to 373 litres.

Rear seats are fitted to some versions, but they suit bags or small children rather than adults. Every 911 comes with Porsche's 3-year, unlimited-mileage warranty, with servicing every 24 months or 20,000 miles.

911 body styles

Two shapes are offered, and they're mechanically the same car. The Coupe is the stiffer, lighter option; the Convertible swaps the fixed roof for open air and a little extra weight. Both are two-door, and both sit on a wheelbase of about 2.45 m.

Coupe

The Coupe gives you the full 373-litre boot with the rear seats up, a kerb weight from 1,461 kg and a turning circle from 10.4 m. It's the version to pick if track days or sheer rigidity matter most.

Convertible

The 911 Convertible trades some luggage space - 163 to 373 litres depending on version - and carries a little more weight, from 1,490 kg. In return you get roof-down driving with no real loss of composure.

Why lease a Porsche 911?

Leasing suits a car like this because you fix your monthly cost, run it inside the manufacturer warranty, and hand it back at the end rather than worrying about what it's worth. That's the practical case; the 911 makes the emotional one on its own.

Every version arrives well equipped. Matrix LED headlights, keyless entry and start, built-in navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, dual-zone climate control, adaptive suspension and front sports seats are standard across the range, along with a rear-view camera, rear parking sensors, lane-keep assist and traffic sign recognition.

Day to day it's easier to live with than the shape suggests. A 63-litre fuel tank, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights and an auto-dimming mirror all help, though you get a tyre repair kit rather than a spare wheel - worth knowing before you order.

Which 911 powertrain is right for me?

There are two: a petrol six and a self-charging hybrid. Neither plugs in, so charging never enters the conversation - the difference is how the power is delivered and whether you want all-wheel drive.

Petrol

The petrol range runs from 389 to 503 bhp through a 3.0 to 4.0-litre six-cylinder engine, driving the rear wheels. Automatic or manual, 0-62 mph takes 3.4 to 4.7 seconds and WLTP economy is 20.5 to 27.7 mpg. Pick this if you want the traditional 911 recipe.

Hybrid (self-charging)

The hybrid pairs a 3.6-litre turbo six with a 1.9 kWh battery for 534 bhp and 610 Nm, driving the rear or all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic. It never needs plugging in; the battery exists to sharpen response, not to save fuel. WLTP economy is 26.2 mpg, and 0-62 mph takes 3.0 to 3.1 seconds.

Which 911 trim should I choose?

Four everyday trims and one performance version. They differ mostly in wheels, seats, chassis hardware and how much of the options list is already ticked, so choose on specification rather than badge.

911 entry model

The starting point, with 389 bhp and rear-wheel drive, 20-inch "Carrera" alloys and leather upholstery. Navigation High, Apple CarPlay, leather door panels and central armrests, heated front seats and keyless drive are all included, plus heated steering wheel, front parking sensors and ambient lighting. Adaptive cruise control and a 360-degree camera are available as options.

T

The T is the driver's pick among the petrol cars, adding the Sport Chrono package and cruise control over the entry model, plus 21-inch "Carrera S" alloys, sports suspension, four-wheel steering, launch control, sports seats, privacy glass and an electrically adjustable driver's seat. The T is currently available from £1,737.65 a month.

S

The S is about presentation rather than extra kit: 473 bhp, rear-wheel drive, 21-inch "Carrera S" alloys and leather, with the same core equipment as the entry car. Options include ventilated front seats, an electric sunroof and self-steering parking. The S is currently available from £1,658.03 a month.

GTS

The GTS is the hybrid, with 534 bhp, the Sport Chrono package over the entry model, 21-inch "Carrera Gts" alloys, sports suspension, four-wheel steering, launch control and sports seats. All-wheel drive is available here. The GTS is currently available from £2,040.65 a month.

Then there's the track-focused end of the range.

GT3

The GT3 is the 503 bhp petrol car, on 21-inch "Gt3" alloys, with sports suspension, sports seats and autonomous emergency braking. Over the S it adds a GT sports steering wheel in smooth finish leather black, a reversing camera system, Keyless Go and cruise control. The Touring Pack adds that same GT sports steering wheel to a trim that doesn't already have it. The GT3 is currently available from £2,605.87 a month. Against the S, that is currently £947.84/mo more expensive.

Porsche 911 FAQs

No. The hybrid is self-charging, so it never plugs in. Its 1.9 kWh battery works with the 3.6-litre turbo six to produce 534 bhp and sharpen throttle response, rather than to provide electric-only driving. WLTP economy is 26.2 mpg.

Between 163 and 373 litres with the rear seats up, depending on the version. The Coupe offers 373 litres; the Convertible ranges from 163 to 373 litres. Roof load is 75 kg and the fuel tank holds 63 litres.

Partly. Versions with four seats take child seats or luggage in the back, but adults won't be comfortable there. Reviewers consistently describe the 911 as the most usable sports car of its kind, though a two-door at 4.54 m long is never a family hatchback substitute.

Yes, on petrol versions. The petrol range offers automatic or manual with six, seven or eight speeds, all rear-wheel drive. The hybrid is automatic only, with an eight-speed gearbox and the choice of rear- or all-wheel drive.

Porsche covers the 911 with a 3-year, unlimited-mileage warranty, and servicing falls due every 24 months or 20,000 miles. On a typical lease that means the car stays under warranty throughout. Our guide to running a lease car explains how servicing works on contract hire.

It depends entirely on what's available at the time. Rentals move as pricing is refreshed, and the cheapest version this week may not be the cheapest next month. The live 911 deals below this page always show the current position.

Group 50, the top band, for both petrol and hybrid versions. Worth getting an insurance quote before you order - it's the single most common surprise for customers moving up to a car of this performance.
