Mercedes-Benz CLA Saloon Lease Deals

A guide to leasing the Mercedes-Benz CLA Saloon, covering its 1.5-litre petrol and electric powertrains, six trim levels and everyday practicality. Written by FVL's motoring team to help you pick the right version before you choose a deal.

The Mercedes-Benz CLA Saloon is the compact four-door that sits at the entry point of Mercedes-Benz's car range, with a low, coupe-like roofline, five seats and a 405-litre boot. It's the current, third-generation CLA, on sale in this form since 2026.

You choose between a 1.5-litre turbo petrol with 134-187 bhp and an electric version with a 58-85 kWh battery, 221-349 bhp and up to 483 miles of WLTP range on the best version. Six trims run from Sport to AMG Line Premium Plus.

It suits drivers who want a premium badge and a lot of cabin technology without moving up to a bigger executive saloon, and who don't need to carry tall adults in the back every day.

About the Mercedes-Benz CLA Saloon

The CLA Saloon is Mercedes-Benz's smallest four-door, built around style and aerodynamics rather than outright space. It's about 4.72 m long, seats five and carries 405 litres with the rear seats up.

Reviewers consistently praise the ride comfort, the quiet at speed and the long official range of the electric versions, along with a cabin that feels a clear step up from earlier compact Mercedes models. The common criticism is rear headroom: that sloping roof costs space, and taller passengers notice it.

Every version carries a 3-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty and a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, with 94% for adult occupant protection and 93% for vulnerable road users.

CLA Saloon or CLA Coupe or CLA Estate?

The Saloon is the one to pick if you want the four-door shape with a conventional boot lid and the option of serious towing. Its 405-litre boot is the smallest of the three, but braked towing reaches up to 2,000 kg.

The CLA Coupe is shorter and lower, at 4.69-4.70 m and 1.40-1.43 m tall, with 445-460 litres behind the rear seats. The CLA Estate is the practical one: 455-505 litres seats up, 1,290-1,370 litres folded, and up to 2,400 kg braked towing. All three seat five. To see everything side by side, start from the full CLA range.

Why lease a Mercedes-Benz CLA Saloon?

Because the standard kit list is unusually complete for a compact car, which matters when you're leasing: you live with the spec you order for the whole contract, and there's no trading up later.

Every CLA Saloon, whatever the trim, gets a fixed panoramic glass roof, heated front seats, adaptive cruise control, keyless entry and start, built-in navigation, a digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, air conditioning, adaptive suspension and front and rear parking sensors.

On safety, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, automatic high beam and LED headlights are fitted across the board. Servicing falls due every 12 months or 15,500 miles, which suits most contract mileages. A tyre repair kit is supplied rather than a spare wheel.

Which CLA Saloon powertrain is right for me?

Two choices: a 1.5-litre turbo petrol, or fully electric. Both are automatic.

Petrol

The 1.5-litre turbo gives 134-187 bhp through an 8-speed automatic, with front- or all-wheel drive available. WLTP economy is 50.4-56.5 mpg and CO2 114-127 g/km. Choose it if you can't charge at home, or if you tow: braked towing runs from 1,600 to 2,000 kg.

Electric

The electric CLA Saloon uses a 58-85 kWh battery with 221-349 bhp, rear- or all-wheel drive, and WLTP range from 308 up to 483 miles depending on version. The best version rapid-charges 10-80% in 22 minutes at 320 kW. New to this? Our electric car guide covers the basics.

Which CLA Saloon trim should I choose?

Six trims, and the split is mostly about wheels, screens and driver aids rather than comfort basics.

Sport

The starting point, and no poor relation. You get 18-inch 5 Twin Spoke alloys in high-gloss black, MBUX navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the large fixed panoramic glass roof, a three-spoke leather multifunction sports steering wheel, part-leather trim, wireless phone charging and self-steering parking. A retractable towbar is available as an option.

Sport Executive

Adds Artico man-made leather upholstery, a keyless-go pack, an ambient lighting pack and a rear centre armrest with stowage, plus a hands-free tailgate. Wheels become 18-inch 5 Spoke alloys. The sensible pick if you want the cabin to feel finished without paying for AMG styling.

AMG Line Executive

The styling step. It brings 18-inch AMG 5 Spoke alloys in high-gloss black, and with them front sports seats, an electrically adjustable driver's seat and electric seat memory. Mostly about how the car looks and how you sit in it, rather than new technology.

AMG Line Premium

Moves to 19-inch AMG 5 Twin Spoke alloys and adds the keyless-go convenience pack with digital extra, the 14-inch MBUX Superscreen front passenger display with touch controls, electrically adjustable front memory seats with 4-way lumbar support, and dual-zone climate control.

AMG Line Premium+

Adds Multibeam LED headlamps with adaptive high beam assist plus, a 360-degree parking camera, a head-up display and a heated steering wheel, on 19-inch AMG Multi Spoke alloys. This is the trim for anyone who parks in tight city spaces.

AMG Line Premium Plus

An electric-only trim, starting at 221 bhp with rear-wheel drive on 19-inch AMG Multi Spoke alloys. Over Sport it brings Multibeam LED headlamps with adaptive high beam assist plus, digital extra MBUX smartphone integration, drive parking assist with 360-degree camera and front and rear sensors, a head-up display and a rear centre armrest with stowage, along with a heat pump, privacy glass, ambient lighting and dual-zone climate control.

Similar cars to consider

If the CLA Saloon's rear headroom or boot shape gives you pause, the BMW 1 Series, the Audi A3 and the Mercedes-Benz A Class are all worth a look, as is the wider Mercedes-Benz range.

Mercedes-Benz CLA Saloon FAQs

It works well for a family of four with younger children. There are five seats and a 405-litre boot, but the low roofline limits rear headroom and the boot opening is a saloon lid rather than a hatch, so loading bulky items takes more care.

WLTP range is 308 to 483 miles depending on the version, with the 483-mile figure belonging to the longest-range version. Efficiency is quoted at 4.4-5.0 miles per kWh. Expect less in winter, as with any electric car.

Yes. Braked towing is 1,600-2,000 kg on petrol versions and 1,500 kg on electric ones, with 750 kg unbraked across the range. A retractable towbar is a factory option on every trim, so it needs specifying at order, not afterwards.

Three years with unlimited mileage, which covers most lease terms in full. Electric versions also get an 8-year or 100,000-mile battery warranty guaranteeing 70% of capacity. The anti-corrosion guarantee runs from 6 to 30 years depending on the version.

Fastest charging is 200-320 kW depending on version. At 320 kW the best version covers 10-80% in 22 minutes. On an 11 kW home or workplace charger, a full 0-100% charge takes 6.5 hours on that same version.

It depends entirely on what's available at the time, and it isn't always the entry trim. Rentals move as pricing is refreshed, so check the live CLA Saloon deals below, which are for this body style only. Our guide to choosing your car covers matching spec, term and mileage.
