View dealThe GWM ORA 03 is a five-door, five-seat electric hatchback with retro-influenced styling, a plush-looking cabin and a standard equipment list that shames plenty of pricier cars. It's the small electric car in GWM's UK line-up, and it suits drivers who mostly cover town and commuter miles rather than long motorway hauls.
There's one body style, one powertrain and three trims: Pure, Pro and GT. So the decision is mercifully simple - pick the kit level you want, check the range figure on the version you're looking at, and you're done.
One thing to be clear about up front: GWM no longer lists the ORA 03 in its new-car price list, so the versions shown here are available while stocks last.

The ORA 03 is an electric hatchback about 4.24m long, with five seats, a 228-litre boot and a 5-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty. Reviewers consistently praise the cabin quality and the sheer amount of standard kit, and consistently criticise the small boot.
It arrived in the UK under a rather more feline name before becoming the ORA 03 in 2024, and the styling - round headlights, bulging bonnet, two-tone roof option - has always been the point. Road testers rate it best around town, where the light steering and tight turning circle work in its favour, and note that the driver-assistance alerts can be enthusiastic. Euro NCAP awarded it five stars, with 92% for adult occupant protection.
Because you get a lot of equipment without ticking a single option box. Every ORA 03, whichever trim you choose, has adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, keyless entry and start, wireless phone charging, built-in navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an electrically adjustable driver's seat.
The safety and assistance kit is thorough too: autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, active lane-change assist, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beam and rear parking sensors are standard across the range, which helps explain that 93% Euro NCAP score for safety assist.
Practicality is the trade-off. Rear passenger space is genuinely good for a car this size, but at 228 litres the boot is small for the footprint, and there's a tyre repair kit rather than a spare. Servicing is every 24 months or 18,000 miles.
There's only one: a front-wheel-drive electric motor with an automatic transmission. Battery size varies by version, so the range figure is the number to check on the individual deal before you order.
The motor produces 169bhp and 250Nm, enough for 0-62mph in 8.2-8.3 seconds and a 99mph top speed. Battery capacity runs from 48kWh to 63kWh, giving a WLTP range of 193 miles on the smaller pack and up to 261 miles on the larger one, at 3.7-3.8 miles per kWh.
Charging is where you need to be realistic. Rapid charging peaks at 64kW, with 15-80% taking 43 minutes on the best version, while an 11kW home or workplace supply does the same in 3.2 hours. That's fine with a driveway charger; less convenient if you rely on public rapid chargers. Our guide to charging an electric car is worth a read if this is your first EV.

All three trims share the same 169bhp motor, so this is purely about equipment and appearance rather than performance. Pure already covers the essentials, Pro adds comfort, and GT layers on styling and interior indulgences.
Pure rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and has cloth upholstery, a microfibre leather steering wheel, satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree surround camera and a rear-view camera. It is far from a stripped-out entry car. The Pure is currently available from Price on request a month.
Pro swaps in leatherette upholstery and adds heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, automatic parking assist, front parking sensors, a powered tailgate and rear privacy glass. It's the sensible middle choice for anyone who parks in tight spaces or dislikes cold mornings. The Pro is currently available from Price on request a month. Against the Pure, that is currently Price comparison unavailable.
GT gets 18-inch diamond-turned GT alloys, LED headlights, an opening panoramic glass sunroof and GT-style leatherette trim, plus massaging and ventilated front seats, electric seat memory, memory door mirrors that fold automatically, launch control and a heat pump - the last of which helps efficiency in winter. The GT is currently available from Price on request a month. Against the Pro, that is currently Price comparison unavailable.
Four paint colours are offered across the range: Mars red, Meteorite grey, Moonlight white and Starry black. Insurance groups run from 20 to 22 depending on version, so worth a quick quote before you commit. If you want help weighing specification against term and mileage, our guide to choosing your lease car walks through it.
If you're cross-shopping small electric hatchbacks, the CUPRA Raval and the BYD Dolphin cover broadly similar ground. You can also see the rest of the range on our GWM leasing page.
