View dealThe Ford Grand Tourneo Connect is a five or seven-seat MPV built around space rather than styling. At roughly 4.85 metres long with a boot of up to 1,720 litres with the rear seats up, it does the job of a much larger SUV for families who simply need room.
It sits above the smaller Tourneo Courier in Ford's people-carrying line-up and below the minibus-sized Tourneo Custom. Only one body is offered here: the estate.
The choice is straightforward. Petrol, diesel or plug-in hybrid, all automatic and front-wheel drive, in Titanium or Active trim.

This is the third-generation Grand Tourneo Connect, on sale in this form since 2022. It's the stretched version of the standard Tourneo Connect, with a 2.97 m wheelbase, and it carries five or seven people depending on the version you order.
Reviewers consistently praise the cabin space, which makes fitting a child seat or squeezing into a tight car park bay far less of a wrestle. The usual criticisms are the van-derived ride over broken surfaces and boxy looks that won't win everyone over.
Honest summary: you're trading kerb appeal for genuine usefulness. Ford covers it with a 3-year / 100,000-mile warranty, and it'll tow up to 1,500 kg braked on the diesel.
Because every version arrives well equipped, and leasing keeps you in a car with a full manufacturer warranty for the whole contract. Standard kit across the range includes adaptive cruise control, keyless entry and start, built-in navigation, a digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless phone charging.
Safety and assistance equipment is generous for the money: autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, active lane-change assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, a rear-view camera and front and rear parking sensors are fitted to every version.
Practical details matter more here than badge appeal. Privacy glass, roof rails, rain-sensing wipers, power-folding mirrors and air conditioning are standard, the turning circle is 12.1 m, and boot space runs from 446 litres up to 1,720 litres with the rear seats up, or 3,105 litres folded.
Three engines, all automatic and front-wheel drive: a 1.5-litre turbo petrol, a 2-litre diesel and a 1.5-litre plug-in hybrid. Mileage, towing and whether you can charge at home will decide it for most people.
The 1.5-litre turbo petrol has 114 bhp and a 7-speed automatic gearbox. WLTP economy is 41.1 mpg with 157 g/km CO2, and insurance group 9 is the lowest in the range. It suits lower-mileage family use where most trips are local.
The 2-litre diesel makes 120 bhp with 320 Nm of torque, again through a 7-speed automatic. It records 49.4-49.5 mpg and 150 g/km, and it's the version that tows 1,500 kg braked. The one to have if you cover long motorway miles or pull a caravan.
The plug-in hybrid pairs a 1.5-litre turbo petrol with a 25.7 kWh battery (19.7 kWh usable) for 148 bhp, 350 Nm and a 6-speed automatic. It needs plugging in to make sense: 0-100% takes 2.3 hours at 11 kW on the best version, or 5-80% in 26 minutes at 40 kW. Braked towing drops to 1,400 kg.

Two trims: Titanium and Active. Both ride on 17-inch alloy wheels with cloth upholstery, so the decision comes down to lighting, glass and looks rather than any gap in the core equipment.
Titanium starts the range with the 114 bhp engine, 17-inch silver alloy wheels with blue centre caps, an enhanced digital cluster with navigation integration, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via USB or wireless connection, a front camera for the assistance systems and 25W wireless charging. Heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, LED headlights and a detachable towbar are available as options.
The Titanium is currently available from £458.05 a month.
Active brings the 120 bhp diesel as its entry version and a more rugged look, with 17" x 6.5 black machined alloy wheels. It adds LED headlamps with auto high beam, a fixed panoramic glass roof and a wireless charging pad. Heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and a detachable towbar remain options.
The Active is currently available from £514.34 a month.

If seven seats aren't essential, the shorter Ford Tourneo Connect uses the same recipe in a smaller body. The Peugeot Rifter is the obvious alternative take on the van-based MPV. The rest of the Ford range is worth a browse too.
