View dealThe Audi RS3 Hatchback is a high-performance model: five doors, five seats and a 2.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine sending 394 bhp to all four wheels through a seven-speed automatic gearbox. It covers 0-62 mph in 3.8 seconds.
It suits a driver who wants genuine performance without running a second car. Under the wide arches sits a compact hatchback with a 282-litre boot, three-zone climate control and heated front seats, so it can do the school run and the B-road on the same day.
The choice here is straightforward: one body style on this page, one petrol engine, and three trims - RS3 entry model, Carbon Black and Carbon Vorsprung.

The RS3 Hatchback is Audi Sport's compact performance car: 4.38 m long and all-wheel drive. This is the current, fifth-generation car, on sale in this form since 2026.
Its turbocharged engine is the reason people want one. Reviewers consistently single out the noise and the way power builds above 3,000 rpm, and they praise the grip and composure that all-wheel drive brings in poor weather.
Criticism is fairly consistent too: the steering tells you less than the best rear-drive rivals do, and the ride is firm. Practicality holds up better than you might expect, with 1,104 litres available once the rear seats are folded, and every car is covered by a 3-year / 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty.
The Hatchback gives you a tailgate and a wide load opening; the RS3 Saloon gives you a bigger boot at 321 litres against the Hatchback's 282 litres, through a smaller aperture.
Both seat five and share a 2.63 m wheelbase, a 1,565 kg kerb weight and a 12.0 m turning circle. The Saloon is longer, at 4.53 m against 4.38 m. Choose the Hatchback if you load bulky things, the Saloon if you prefer the shape and the extra litres. You can see both together on the full Audi RS3 range page.
Because the RS3 is generously equipped as standard and expensive to option up, which makes it a car worth specifying carefully once rather than living with a thin spec for three or four years.
Every version gets matrix LED headlights, a head-up display, a digital instrument cluster, built-in navigation with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, heated front sports seats with electric adjustment and memory, three-zone climate control, ambient lighting and privacy glass.
On safety, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition and a rear-view camera are fitted across the range. Practical details matter too: the spare is a tyre repair kit rather than a wheel, which is worth knowing before a long trip.
Our team can't tell you how it drives - that's what road testers are for - but after over 25 years arranging leases we can tell you what customers ask about this one: tyre cost, mileage allowance and whether the spec they've chosen is actually available to order.
There's only one, so the decision is made for you: a petrol 2.5-litre turbo with 394 bhp, an automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive. No plug, no charging, no hybrid battery to think about.
The turbo makes 500 Nm, drives all four wheels through a seven-speed automatic, and does 0-62 mph in 3.8 seconds. Top speed is 155-174 mph depending on version. WLTP economy is 29.7-30.1 mpg with CO2 of 214-215 g/km, from a 55-litre tank.

All three share the same 394 bhp engine, all-wheel drive, 19-inch alloy wheels and leather upholstery, so you're choosing on looks and on driver-assistance kit rather than pace.
Far from basic. You get MMI navigation plus with a 12.8-inch MMI touch display, a three-spoke flat-top and flat-bottom black leather multifunction steering wheel with shift paddles, heated front seats, camera-based traffic sign recognition and adaptive cruise control, on 19-inch "5 Y Spoke" alloys with sports suspension.
Carbon Black is about appearance rather than extra equipment - the standard kit list matches the entry car. It runs 19-inch alloys in the "10 Cross Spoke" style with leather upholstery. A fixed panoramic glass roof, roof rails and sports seats are available as factory options.
The fully specified one. It adds a panoramic roof, 3D and 360-degree surround view cameras, park assist pro with remote functionality and adaptive cruise assist plus, along with front and rear parking sensors, self-steering parking, lane-keep assist and adaptive suspension. Sports seats remain an option.
