It suits someone who wants a company-sized saloon that doesn't look like everyone else's, and who cares more about steering and balance than about having the biggest screen on the dashboard. Around 4.64m long with a 480-litre boot, it's a sensible size for UK roads and car parks.
The choice is simple: one body, one fuel, four trims. Sprint and Veloce for everyday driving, then the Quadrifoglio and Quadrifoglio Collezione if you want the V6.

The Giulia is Alfa Romeo's saloon, sitting alongside the brand's SUVs as the one model built purely around the way it drives. Rear-wheel drive, lightweight construction and near-perfect weight distribution are the point of it.
Reviewers consistently praise the chassis - the balance, the quick steering and the ride quality get near-unanimous approval, and the Quadrifoglio is routinely rated among the best sports saloons on sale. The common criticism is the cabin technology, which testers find dated next to newer German rivals, though many also welcome the physical climate buttons and rotary controller.
Practically, it seats five, carries 480 litres in the boot with the rear seats up, and comes with a three-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty. Servicing falls due every 12 months or 9,000 miles.
Because every Giulia arrives well equipped, and leasing keeps you in a car that's covered by its three-year, unlimited-mileage warranty for the whole time you have it. Unlimited mileage matters here: high-mileage drivers aren't penalised on warranty cover.
Standard across the range: adaptive cruise control, built-in navigation, a digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, keyless entry and start, a powered tailgate, climate control and paddle shifters. Safety kit includes autonomous emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beam, LED headlights, a rear-view camera and front and rear parking sensors.
A 10.8m turning circle and 480-litre boot make it manageable day to day, and it'll tow up to 1,600kg braked. The spare is a tyre repair kit, worth knowing before you order.
There's one answer: petrol, automatic, rear-wheel drive. No plug, no charging, no hybrid system to think about.
Power runs from 280bhp to 520bhp, with 400-600Nm of torque, an eight-speed automatic and drive to the rear wheels. WLTP economy is 28.0-39.2mpg and CO2 163-229g/km, depending on version. It suits drivers who do mixed miles and want the engine at the front and the drive at the back.
The 280bhp cars use a 2.0-litre four-cylinder; the Quadrifoglio versions a 2.9-litre V6. Acceleration spans 5.7 seconds to 62mph at one end and 3.9 seconds at the other, with top speeds from 149mph to 191mph. Insurance groups run 32-47, so check yours before committing.

Sprint and Veloce cover everyday driving; the two Quadrifoglio versions are the fast ones. All four share the same body and the long list of standard kit above.
Sprint is the 280bhp entry version, on 18-inch "10 Spoke" alloy wheels with cloth upholstery, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a sports leather gearstick, a reversing camera with dynamic grid lines, front and rear parking sensors and a wireless charging pad. It also gets blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist and ambient lighting. Heated seats, a heated wheel, an electric driver's seat and a sunroof are available as options.
The Sprint is currently available from £581.66 a month.
Veloce keeps the 280bhp engine but adds 19-inch "Dark Petal" alloy wheels and a leather seat pack. Heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, front sports seats and an electrically adjustable driver's seat with memory all become standard, rather than options. The electric sunroof stays optional.
The Veloce is currently available from £619.14 a month. Against the Sprint, that is currently £37.48/mo more expensive.
Then come the performance Giulias, both built around the 2.9-litre V6.
This is the 520bhp car: 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds, 191mph, and the version road testers rate alongside the very best sports saloons. Over Veloce it adds a leather dashboard, door panels and central armrest, plus a Harman Kardon sound system, with 19-inch "5 Hole" alloy wheels and leather upholstery.
The Quadrifoglio is currently available from £944.90 a month. Against the Veloce, that is currently £325.76/mo more expensive.
The Collezione is a more lavishly finished take on the Quadrifoglio, with 513bhp, Alcantara and leather upholstery and 19-inch "Dark 5 Hole" alloy wheels. Red stitching runs across the leather dashboard, door panels and armrest, and it brings a heated steering wheel, premium Harman Kardon audio and a six-way power driver's seat with memory and four-way lumbar adjustment.
The Quadrifoglio Collezione is currently available from £1,877.08 a month. Against the Quadrifoglio, that is currently £932.17/mo more expensive.
