The Aion V is a five-seat electric family SUV, and it keeps the choosing simple: one body, one battery, one trim and one optional pack. With a 75.3 kWh battery, 201 bhp and an official range of up to 317 miles, it's aimed squarely at households moving out of a petrol crossover.
It's the model that introduces Aion to UK drivers, so the badge on the bonnet will be unfamiliar to most people on your street. What isn't unfamiliar is the shape of the thing: a boxy, upright SUV measuring 4.61 m long with a 427-litre boot.

The V is a mid-sized electric SUV built for comfort and space rather than excitement. Reviewers consistently praise the cabin for its room and material quality, and note a ride that stays settled on British roads, while being blunt that it isn't a car for keen drivers.
The numbers back up the family case. There are five seats and five doors, a 427-litre boot with the rear seats up that opens out to 978 litres folded, and a 2.78 m wheelbase that explains why road testers keep remarking on rear legroom.
Reassurance matters with a new brand, and Aion leans on it: the battery is covered for 8 years or 125,000 miles, guaranteeing 70% of its capacity, and there's a 10-year anti-corrosion guarantee.
Because the V arrives generously equipped, so there's little to add and less to argue about when you're specifying a lease. Every car gets the same safety and comfort kit, which keeps the ordering process short and the spec sheet consistent across the range.
Standard across the range: adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beam and autonomous emergency braking.
Comfort is unusually complete for a car with a single trim. Heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, electric seat memory, a powered tailgate, dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charging and a heat pump all come as standard, along with a fixed panoramic glass roof and roof rails.
One practical note for leasing: there's no spare wheel, just a tyre repair kit, and the insurance groups run from 32 to 33, so it's worth getting a quote before you commit.
There's only one, so this part of the decision is made for you. Every V is fully electric, front-wheel drive and automatic, with the same 75.3 kWh battery and the same 201 bhp motor whichever car you order.
Official range is up to 317 miles, with efficiency quoted at 3.7 miles per kWh. It'll charge at up to 180 kW, giving 10-80% in 24 minutes on the best version, or 0-100% in 8.5 hours at 11 kW at home.

There's one trim, called V, and one optional pack, so the question is really whether you want leather and massage seats. Everything else is already fitted.
The V rides on 19-inch aluminium alloy wheels and comes with LED headlights, online navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, artificial leather upholstery and a panoramic glass sunroof with an electric sunshade. There's also a rear-view camera alongside the 360-degree system.
